Fresh recruit to the label branch of Uncanny Valley, Sneaker brings even more unexpected angles to an imprint already founded on madcap invention within house and techno. Across four tracks you get all manner of ideas spluttered out in dramatic fashion, kicking off with the muted metal guitars and jackhammer drums of "White Glow", a track that slowly soars towards a euphoric climax in a most progressive of ways. "Misty Mirror" meanwhile heads into a coldwave cavern full of pitch perfect beyond-the-grave vocals and stripped down synth bass. "Sumatra Rain" heads into an altogether different territory of minimal hypnotism, plying a lighter, more organic trade in industrial-flavoured techno more indepted to the old ways. Hold tight because the madness isn't through until you've heard spooky Bryan Adams cover "Run To You".
