Brooklyn based Significant Other is a fast rising artist who very much comes of age on "Club Aura", his third EP. It lands on UK label Oscilla Sound and is filled with fascinating rhythmic explorations, subtle details and stuttering broken beats. "Mike's Gone Back To Manchester" is a dub, paranoid urban soundscape and "Little Blue Pills" is jagged and edgy with slowed rhythms that hypnotise. "Drum Therapy" is busier, exploring a wide stereo field with skittish hits and deft details all colouring in another spare but compelling groove. Inventive, off grid and brilliant, this is very much the sound of an artist who has found his own sound.
