The Giegling operation continues to focus on letting the Staub sub-label flourish, as the Prince of Denmark returns with his second offering some two years after debuting with Soulfood. More recently found moonlighting as Traumprinz, To The Fifty Engineers has the Danish Prince of dub crackled techno crafting four more prime examples of his trade. Broken drum patterns usher "Untitled" into action, as intricate layers of swampy atmospherics pile up with a subtlety that never feels claustrophobic. The title track initially seems to offer some lightness in contrast, however the cloudy textures and faint percussive patterns dovetail into a procession of ominous droning synths that come streaming in to flush you deep into darkness. Dissonant strains of forgotten orchestras lie deep within the meditative groove of "Countless Worlds Illuminated" while the spectral wasteland of "Prypjat" is no doubt in reference to ghost town near Chernobyl that informs the title.
