Livity Sound round out a fine 2015 with that most rare of things; a solo 12" from Pev! Whilst the man known as Tom Ford has shared production duties on Livity Sound records with Hodge and Kowton this year, the last solo Peverelist excursion was some two years ago. As expected Pev is on fine fettle here, laying down some soulful techno in "Undulate" which features a hypnotic and entrancing melody and powerful sub bass; all powered by tom drums programmed at various pitch. Genius! On the flip "Grit" is more like the Pev you know: broken beat, serious sub and wacky melody, but just wait until those eerie strings come rushing in. Top stuff.
