A quick glance at the Morphology's recent discography suggests that the Finnish duo is in a rich vein of form. Confirmation arrives in the shape of this superb EP for Emotions Electric. Packed full of funk-fuelled, alien-sounding electro workouts, the four tracks manage to balance the needs of dancefloors with a firm grasp of melody, mood and texture. While we're rather enjoying the deep and spacey "Polygon Fields" and raw, acid-fired roller "Zeta Potential", many DJs will be instinctively drawn towards bustling opener "Perfect Person", whose rock solid TR-808 beats and squeezable synth bassline are hugely addictive. Best of all, though, is closer "Incipient Ability", a 4/4 electrofunk anthem full of spiraling boogie synths and intergalactic melodies.
