Reduced Life Expectancy vinyl

It's not surprising to see Regis feature on an EP he's ultimately inspired. For all we know this could be him. Horizontal Ground have released the first sounds from the unknown and apparently Italian act, Monica Hits The Ground. The self titled EP, made up of three versions of "Reduced Life Expectancy" and one Regis remix, is a retrospectively inspired take on UK techno moulded for a contemporary model. The track's A-side, "Reduced Life Expectancy 7", is like an evolved version of Regis' "The Black Freighter", while the locked groove of "Reduced Life Expectancy 2" sounds as though Monica Hits The Ground has buried Karl O'Conner's "Executive Ground" alive in a muggy mesh of sonic grit. "Reduced Life Expectancy 3" pairs Dadub-like syncopation with the lost ambience of a Prologue record, while lastly Regis himself tackles "Reduced Life Expectancy 1" with a remix that sounds like a haunted cruise liner blowing its fog horn lost at sea.
