Despite tut-tutting from David Mancuso, the unofficial Loft Classics series continues to gather together much-played - but often little-known - gems that made their mark at his infamous NYC parties. This 10th volume once again digs deep, offering a chance to bask in the soulful glory of Patti-Jo's cover of Curtis Mayfield's "Make Me Believe In You" and Asso's 1983 Italian boogie classic "Don't Stop" (a record that will set you back megabucks, even in its sneaky bootleg reissue form). There is, of course, lots more to get excited about, not least the psychedelic oddness of post-punk nugget "Mushroom" and the acid-friend spirituality of "Spirits Up Above".
