Liela Moss certainly fits the Bella Union stable; both artist and label are remarkable, capable of blowing away cobwebs and carving out spaces that always feel new, even if the reality is we've been there before. It's not that Moss' role as Duke Spirit's singer didn't already capture our imaginations, it's just that - to borrow sentiments from 'Atoms At Me' - her solo work feels that bit freer and more uninhibited. One of three tracks unveiled before this long form parent landed, in many ways it represents her fundamentals best. Dark energy colliding with a wide-eyed sense of grandeur and majesty in such a way as to wind up complete, rather than disjointed. Like comparing the power synth exhilaration of 'Turn Your Back Around' with 'Watching The Wolf''s brooding black magic atmosphere. File somewhere close to Bat For Lashes, Kate Bush and Nadine Shah.
