Always injecting the field of turntables with playful flair from day one, Kid Koala is a seasoned hand at spreading joy with his creations. In that sense, his new album concept isn't a huge surprise, but that doesn't detract from it being a brilliant and novel idea. Creatures Of The Late Afternoon is a new double-LP which also serves as the soundtrack to the included board game, which Koala has developed and designed himself. The over-arching concept revolves around the titular creatures adventuring on a mission to make a band, prizing community and threading in some environmental values without making the point too bluntly. Hitting a sweet spot towards broad appeal while holding true to his dexterous deck-juggling legacy, it's another fine step on for the mighty Koala.
