Japanese producer Hiroshi Watanabe has been a Kompakt mainstay since 2001, delivering no less than six albums and numerous singles to the German power house in that time. After something of a gap Watanabe is back with a new single that delves into melodic studies within techno realms, where the beat plays second fiddle to the thick layers of tone and texture atop the track. "Run Through The Road In The Fog" has a dubby lilt to it, but its bubbling keys keep the energy up as ever increasing harmonic elements spiral into the mix. "Behind My Life" meanwhile cruises on a Mo Wax-style breakbeat that perfectly supports the grainy guitar drones and plucked notes that populate the track, giving rise to a track both experimental and easy going at the same time.
