Here is the Annual NDATL special edition release, featuring label head honcho Kai Alce. The explorations begins with the smooth and smoky late night deepness of "Thrown Away" ,with its truthful spoken word dialogue. This is followed by an addition by Trackmode boss Brett Dancer on the same side - he provides some proper Midwest vibes on the soulful/bittersweet bounce of "Art". On the flip, it's all about Toronto legend Nick Holder, who has made a welcome return to production here: he serves up the lo-slung groove of "Disco 79'" harking back to his early days of disco loops (think back to his classic One Night In The Disco from back in '96), through to the super slick and emotive "A Black Man In America".
