Molina's mixture of electronic experimentation and folk-tinged songcraft remains stark and compelling, yet there are fresh vistas opened up on 'Halo' that touch on the occult and macabre whilst maintaining a deft melodic nous and a tasteful lightness of touch. Sharp, off-kilter and defiantly uncategorisable, 'Halo' is the work of a maverick at the peak of her powers.
