With releases so far this year on French labels Latency and Syncrophone, as well as a stellar entry into the Skudge White canon, the Innerspace Halflife duo of Hakim Murphy and Ike Release have already had the kind of year that puts most producers to shame, and now they return on Finale Sessions with Village Hidden In The Sound, featuring another trio of rough and ready analogue jack tracks rooted in Chicago house. The first two tracks see the duo at their most urgent, with the relentless stomp and thick, modulating bass of "Body Flicker" and flickering morse code-style pulse of "Fan Nation" amongst their most devastating for the dance floor, while "Outer Path" takes their trademark methodical approach, with a mid tempo groove that slowly finds itself unfurling into a treacle-thick combination of acid textures and dub chords.
