Semantica doesn't muck around when it comes to foreboding techno and it unveils its third release in the Nonnative series. Giorgio Gigli opens the EP with rolling drums and lowly spring in "Reflections", which could easily nestle into the meta-narratives of a Zooloft release. Cassegrain's grainy and pulsating "Sennit" creates an upbeat, but equally brooding militarised rebuild of Italian techno associates Dozzy, Sabatini and Obtane. The relatively unknown Barysta supplies the loopy and Mike Parker-esque "Terin", while Staffan Linzatti closes out the EP with "Repetition", a track fuelled by a thrumming low end and blurred holographic synths.
