Review

Italian veteran Gigi Masin has had a real renaissance in recent years thanks to the arrival of a public love of go-slow sounds, more chilled festival stages and deep digging record collectors. Here he links with one of the younger stars of the scene in Jonny Nash for a perfectly entitled album, Postcards From Nowhere. It is six tracks of achingly beautiful ambient with Balearic guitar riffs drifting next to sustained synths, gently rippling rhythms and far-sighted melodies. It's a record that consumes your mind and empties it of everything but the most soothing thoughts.
