Jah Hear Me vinyl

For the latest sub-heavy missive on his fast-rising Navy Cut label, Jack Sparrow has turned to his friend in bass, Fiend - and the shadowy producer has duly delivered. The real killer - to our ears, at least - is A-side "Jah Hear Me", an ultra-deep affair where reggae vocal samples echo across the soundscape and creepy ambient chords slowly pulse above a hushed rhythm track and rubling, super-low sub-bass. It's one that we could see appealing just as much to ambient astronaughts and deep dubstep heads. Over on side B, "Missing Link" offers up a sturdier rhythm, heavier bass, alien effects and a serious deep space atmosphere.
