For the latest volume in their ongoing "Tabansi Gold" series of albums originally released by leading Nigerian label Tabansi, BBE has decided to offer a new pressing of Eric Kol's "Today", an early '80s set that has long been sought-after amongst fans of West African boogie, disco and synth-pop. This time round, BBE has chosen to stretch the tracks over two slabs of wax rather than one, making it much more DJ-friendly. Highlights include the rubbery, funky and super-sweet boogie flex of "Let Your Love Rule My World", the Clavinet-sporting early '80s disco-funk of "Let The Music Play", the punchy and emotive "You're My Solution" and the sax-laden downtempo smoothness of "I'll Sing a Song".
