Already causing a stir across the country with a string of EPs under their belt, Leeds post-punk outfit Drahla have finally got a debut, full-length album of their discordant, angular take on the genre in the form of "Useless Coordinates". Rugged, tense, yet driving and confrontational with occasional jazz influences - album highlight "React/Revolt" which sees the band almost go into jazz territory with a striking sax lead by Chris Duffin taking the helm for a slower, yet no less confrontational affair. Luciel Brown's punchy, insistent vocal delivery carries plenty of conviction, and together with her stabby, discordant guitar riffs, Rob Riggs' elastic bass work and Mike Ainsley's military drum work, "Useless Coordinates" is a cohesive and strong body of work that should see Drahla gain even more traction.
