Veteran UK producer Ed Upton steps up for duty on the No 'Label' operation by Rush Hour's distribution branch with a conceptual LP that's wholly representative of the experimental fare that's preceded it from the likes of Inga Copeland, Stellar OM Source and William Burnett. Whilst Upton's recent mini LP for Power Vacuum as EDMX was the sort of electro leaning techno he's renowned for, Reith Tracks is something else altogether. Recorded in full whilst Upton resided on an Austrian farm, the eight tracks here will resonate with Rephlex fans with Upton operating across a variety of tempos and apparently inspired by the farm's various locations. A handy postcard insert replete with prose from Upton further details the inspiration behind this compelling collection - as with previous No 'Label' releases do not sleep!
