On vinyl by dope demand, Dang-Khoa Chau's fifth album came out on limited tape last summer but is now enjoying the vinyl press it deserves. An instrumental affair, the five track odyssey is an exploration of his Vietnamese roots across a slow-n-low tempo of around 100BPM. Taking in elements of kuduro, baile funk, instrumental grime and UK funky, each cut is a maze of percussion that reflects and shimmers back and forth. The eerie hang drum hypnosis of 'Cham Dance' and the steppy percussive bashment of 'Assault From Java' are two of many highlights.
