Cor blimey what a time it is to be a fan of Tim Eliot. The man behind one of the most intense and exciting A/V shows in the genre, he's also released two albums this year on two of the most on-point young labels: the mighty Methlab and Serum's Souped Up who are responsible for this monster known as "Puer". Repping the German's more frantic, middle-finger-wagging mischievous sound, in many ways it's a homage to UK drum & bass with its jump up elements and big drawn out rolling basslines. Highlights include the steamrolling "Dead Out" (with T>I), the madcap bass fills, dreamy backdrop and stern sci-fi vocals of Coppa on "Remorse", the high voltage sizzles and brazen prang funk of "Vicious Circle" and the brilliantly titled "Silly Serious", a name many of us have called Current Value for years. Astonishing work; and this is only half of it.
