During the 1970s and early 1980s, Marc Cerrone almost single-handedly flew the flag for French disco worldwide, becoming one of the sound's biggest stars thanks to a string of breathy, high energy, string-drenched hits. Given the impact of his productions - both for his eponymous band and the likes of Don Ray, Revelation and Kongas - this two-disc retrospective is well overdue. While it's a little disappointing that many of the tracks are presented in edited form (he truly was king of the extended version), there's no denying of the quality of the material on offer. All the big hits are present ("Supernature", "Love In C Minor" etc), alongside a string of lesser-known gems that will new to all but the most dedicated fans.
