Fresh from a debut EP on My Robot Friend that featured collaborations with Chicks On Speed, Captain Mustache pitches up on Bordello A Parigi for the very first time. It's a great collection of tracks all told, with Play Paul collaboration "Special Friend" in particular offering a pitch-perfect blend of body-popping electro beats, thrusting analogue bass and Mascara-clad, wave-style lead vocals. "Rhythm 55" is a brilliant blend of spacey lead lines, squelchy bass and relaxed electro beats, while "Jean-Michel" doffs a cap to the great Mr Jarre via bold synthesizer melodies, spacey chords and bustling beats. Cheery closing cut "Space Jowblob", a wonderfully lo-fi affair full of 8-bit melodies and druggy bass, is also top-notch.
