Never (Paul Oakenfold remix) CD

2006 Grammy Award nominee, Reggae legend Burning Spear is due to release "Never", his first-ever single geared towards the dance music scene. Released on his own Burning Spear Music imprint. "Never" is remixed into a turbo-charged dancefloor filler by superstar DJ Paul Oakenfold. The vinyl 12" and CD single will also include Burning Spear's own "O Rastaman" (Dub).
A longtime fan of Spear's, "Never" is one of two tracks London-born, Los Angeles-based Oakenfold will remix this year, the other being Madonna's "Hollywood". A Grammy-nominated remixer and international DJ who first catapulted to fame as the opening DJ on U2's Zooropa World Tour, Paul has also remixed the likes of The Rolling Stones, Stone Roses, Snoop Doggy Dogg, New Order, the Cure, Massive Attack, and most recently "Rubber Neckin'", Justin Timberlake ("Rock Your Body"), Jennifer Lopez, Natasha Bedingfield ('If You're Gonna') and The Doors. Grammy Award-winning reggae pioneer Burning Spear is a certifiable legend, celebrating more than 35 years in the music business and showing no sign of slowing down. Growing up in the parish of St Ann's, Jamaica (also home to Bob Marley and the Wailers), Burning Spear made his first recording in 1969 for the esteemed Studio One label. After recording two classic albums for Studio One, Spear went on to record for Island Records in the 70's, releasing three albums which reshaped the face of reggae music and established him as a powerful international artist both artistically and culturally and later winning a Grammy Award for his 1999 album 'Calling Rastafari'.
