For fans of the sadly defunct Broadcast - one of the most intriguing and musically impressive British electronic outfits of the '90s and noughties - this collection of radio recordings should be essential listening. Made up of four previously broadcast but never commercially released live sessions at the BBC's Maida Vale studios, it does a great job in charting the Birmingham band's sonic progression between 1996 and 2003. It includes stellar performances of tracks they later reworked for their albums (see 'Echo's Answer', a trippy version of 'Come on Let's Go' and 'Minim'), plus a genuinely brilliant cover of Nico's 'Sixty Forty' that offers a reminder of just how expressive and talented a vocalist the late Trish Keenan was.
