Review

Ben Frost's latest full length now finally lands on vinyl after much anticipation. It finds the Iceland based artist laying down a doom-laden Fortitude soundtrack that is as cold and icy as where he lives, and where the cult series was set. Mixing up sci-fi designs with wide open ambient soundscapes, frozen winds and the sound of cracking glaciers with small snippets of dialogue, it makes for an inviting and involving listen that conjures up the same unsettling feelings of the show itself. White noise never sounded more loaded than on the opener, while glassy melodies keep you on edge especially in "Bear Alarm" and "DCI Morton" is perfectly mysterious.
