Russian techno auteur Alex Danilov joins forces with Georgian upstart HVL to deliver this split EP of high-end, thought-provoking beats of a subtle and refined nature. Danilov kicks things off with the sparse and dubby "Dzeta", which captures a suspended animation of warmth and surrealism in its delicate synths and percussion. HVL delivers a yet more subdued turn with "Winter 1992", working a loosely-hewn drum beat around luxuriant pads and gently bubbling bass. Danilov's "916 AM" heads into more esoteric territory with the phantom analogue tweakery of its synths, while HVL's "Junction To Everywhere" gets the most energetic on the EP with its more pronounced acid inflections.
