A Look Into The Bowels Of The Polish House Underground vinyl

Since launching last year, the Transatlantyk label from Polish Cut Outs man Zambon has helped introduce listeners around the world to a new wave of Polish deep house producers. This first compilation, featuring a range of previously unheard tracks, maintains this approach, widening the remit to include names unfamiliar to all but a handful of Eastern Europeans. Pleasingly, much of the material is dusty, quietly soulful and undeniably off-kilter, from the traditional samples, marching drums and warm bottom end of Naphta's "Claws", to the enveloping mid-tempo lusciousness of Eltron John's "Polo House", via the spine-tingling, "Deep Burnt"-goes-Polish vibes of Universo's delicious "Nes Sous". Superb stuff, all told.
