So, we do not have much information or background on this release but we like what we hear! 'Creepin' has on a smooth deep house tip and reminds us of prime Larry Heard tracks. 'Let Them Know' has a sweet balance of Detroit and Chicago imbedded in its soul. 'After Hours' is fitting name for this late-night groove while 'Get Busy' adds an eerie mood to the sexy rhythm. Fans of 80s and 90s Chicago and Detroit deep house should definitely check this out.

Right now it looks to Made By Pete for a new 12" that has a gritty, low slung and sleazy tech house vibe. 'Fires' has menacing basslines and steamy vocalisations that make for an unsettling mood. UK tech house titan Bushwacka! then remixes with his signature sense of drive thou with slithy more deep and pensive pads than usual. Review: One of Detroit's finest, Lauren Flax aligns with the Chiwax label for a debut offering of ultra-rough, juking, retrofuturistic daydreams in four tracks. Like a rose blossoming from a thorny stem, this EP starts out raw and slowly fans out into the subtler tricks of multilayering and accoutrement. 'Jack The Haus' is the tweezy, 16-bit hardware jam; then there's 'The Cheeky Whistle Song', which, compared to the first track, betrays a contrasting taste for cascading arps and subtle melodies in the surround mix. 'D-Troit' returns somewhat to the initial Detroit bounce mood, while Lis Sarroca's remix rounds things off with a softer, out-your-face breaks-house beeper.

Review: Tal Fussman's new EP 'Focus' is a dazzling experimental techno gem. Following up releases on the likes of Survival Tactics and Innervisions, Fussman this time crops up on Drumpoet Community's catalogue for a stylistically fragmentary, but still somehow unified, five-tracker. It's hard to put our fingers on the je ne sais qoui of this EP's charm, though one thing we can nod to is its overarching glassy feel, whether evoked by the brittle front cover or refractive synthwork throughout. The arc of the EP is dub techno-ish, then IDM and breaksy, and back again, reflecting a stylistic unpretentiousness despite the producer's clearly, unusually cogent talents.

Review: The Dutch folks at Kalahari Oyster Cult sure like to serve up music that melts minds at 5 am, or they do if this new one from Olsvanger is anything to go by. It is a futuristic techno exploration with 'Grand Slamming' opening up with a mix of sleek linear drums, pulsing sonar synths and supersized hi-hats that bring the energy. 'Paranoweed' is a pure and unadulterated looper that undulates with a subtle funk and 'Bubble Toy' brings some deft sound designs and minimal synths to sci-fi effects and more sweet rolling beats. 'Quadi B' closes out and sounds like a tense and paranoid underwater search for malevolent aquatic life forms.

Review: Z@P and Stonem, both hailing from Uruguay, team up for a fresh and futuristic of the sonic character of their local acid techno scene. As functional and utilitarian as the robotized music heard therein is the name 'Split #1', which indeed shows that this is an EP flaunting two tracks by each artist; Z@P's tracks are groovier, funkier and more alkaline, opting for the sounding like the inner bloopings of a robotic mechsuit. Stonem's tracks deeper and more expansive by contrast, working in more arpeggiations and dramatic accompaniments, as if to suggest our protagonist has exited the mechsuit and confronted the dystopia of their now wartorn world.

Review: The unstoppable and always innovative Derek Carr returns with a new outing on Trident that is as potent as thew UK's weapon defensive system of the same name. It kicks off with the bumping beats and vamping chords of 'Ill Met By Moonlight"' then takes in 'Skeksis II' which is a more brain frying and acid laced techno cut. Review: You can never stop good music from making it out into the world and so it is that new label Secret Keeper from Ukraine makes its bow here despite what is going on back home. Luschn steps up for the first EP and sets a high standard with it from the off. 'Track 1' is tech with a menacing undercurrent and an undulating rhythm while 'Track 2' gets a little more loose in its loops. The mood switches on the b-side, where disco-tech comes to the fore and some deft melodies bring a cosmic feel to 'Track 3'. Last of all, 'Track 4' is nice and dry, stripped back and whacked out tech from another planet.

Review: Enigmatic producer Lost Desert has built has career on collaborative releases, so it's little surprise to see that his second Shanti Radio outing comprises three quietly impressive studio hook-ups. He first joins forces with Gorje Hewek and Izhevski on A-side cut "Yurta", a delightfully loose and rolling fusion of slipped tech-house grooves, meandering electronic motifs, Middle Eastern percussion and drifting Arabic vocals. Over on side B he reunites with regular studio partner Lee Burridge for some deep tech-house warmth influenced by the music of Turkey, before hooking up with Hermanez to wrap gentle, blissful melodies, dreamy chords and toasty bass around another sumptuous, Middle East influenced dancefloor groove.

He then inks with Rebreanu for the marching bleeps and squeaks of 'Bro Disch Tut' and with D I N he makes 'Wormhole', a dry and dusty final tech shuffler before a fine work with Andrey Djackonda in the form of the abstract funk of 'Can't Stop The Time' shuts down.

Review: Sonder is a new London-based label dealing in sprightly tech house with plenty of wiggle. Cutting the ribbon is ADMNTi, who has been on superlative form via releases for Dansu Discs, 4Plae and Yamanu amongst others. His 'Liquor Locker' and 'BetaSpace' cuts are splashed with a little sunshine, some garage bump and subtle trance touches, all the better to grease up the dancefloor. Laidlaw takes up position on the flip, offering his own strain of shuffling funky stuff for the peak time crowd. 'Open To Receive' has a subtly spiritual slant to it, while 'Repeated Patterns' gets into a snaking house trip with cheeky hooks and snappy basslines for days.

Review: Revelation - not the 70s soul and disco group but in this case, the short-lived house duo from New York City - dropped just three EPs and this was the second one from 1990. 'Synth It' is a mix of sounds with phenomenal synth work. The poised techno chords are balanced with electro roots and a squelchy acid line then you get a weird and wonderful bleepy dub trance sound on 'First Power (Domination Dub).' It is loved up and very special. Add in two other fine versions and you have a killer reissue here.

Review: 'Les Gans' out on Musique Risquee, is the first of the two singles taken out from the stellar album 'Face a L'est' by Guillaume & the Coutu Dumonts. On the A side, you'll find the original version of 'Les Gans', a beautifully crafted moody house tune. It's melancholic but none of the less cheerful tone provides the listeners with a feeling that tomorrow might not be so dark after all. 'Les Gans', with it's afro jazz sensibility, represents the underlying theme of Guillaume & the Coutu Dumonts album Face à l’est. Organic drum patterns topped by a persistent saxophone line (played by [iks] saxophonist Sebastien Arcand Tourigny) result in a complex composition that unfolds slowly, leading the minds into profound hypnosis. On the B side, Audio Werner (Hartchef, Perlon, Hello Repeat) takes us deep into his foggy mind. Known by the public for his versatility, it's the first time he dives so deep into the dubby side of things. Setting the mood with the most massive bass ever, he then proceeds to reveal all the elements slowly over an amazing 12 minutes of pure delight. As an answer to the original melodic line, Audio Werner brings in the saxophone of Hayden Chislom, collaborator of Burnt Friedman and member of Root 70. There's plenty of talent and quality within, presented by a handsomely hand-picked selection of house scientists, namely Raudive, Cesare vs Disorder and Suburb, but it's the UK's Mr.G who takes the limelight on this one. His singular style - warm, analogue tech-house infested with the sound of valve compressors - is both utterly effective on the floor and also a pleasure to listen to while swinging to a fro wherever you may find yourself.

Review: Like Father, Like Son sees Big Strick and his prodigious son Generation Next team up for a split 12" showcasing this pair of criminally underappreciated Detroit producers. "Rain Dance" sees the elder of the two deliver a deep techno journey filled with abstracted textures and organic chimes that sound, while the young Generation Next shows a remarkable maturity beyond his years on "And You Too", where sparse, subtle chords and the simplest of melodies drift by on a light rhythm. On "Like Father, Like Son" the two pair up for the most gently uplifting of deep piano jams. Just like pretty much everything on 7 Days Entertainment, this is some nigh on essential material.

Review: A new imprint arises from mainland Europe in the shape of the mysterious Rawax with the debut twelve presenting a quartet of Untitled Tracks from Siberian producer Unbroken Dubs. Given the mood present throughout and the location of the producer, obvious parallels can be drawn with the excellent output from Ethereal Sounds, and that should be recommendation enough for people to investigate. Should you require further enticement, this release opens with wormhole traversing rhythms cutting through the sonic ether, though distant chord embellishments add a touch of warmth to the slightly alien tones that circulate constantly. The subsequent two tracks continue in this manner as Unbroken Dubs seeks to flush the stripped down patterns of drums and fuzzed out bass in ever increasing expanses of sonic dust. It's the final track where a more apparent sense of urgency is introduced as the Siberian lays down a tropical shower of percussion over intrusive chords.

Review: ** Repress of the reIssue ** Ooh if there's ever a deep house history lesson wrapped up in a 12" then it's this reissued Stomp The Beat EP from Gherkin Jerks aka the master Larry Heard. The Gherkin Jerks project originally surfaced back in 1988 with this 12" on the Chicago based Gherkin Records label, released anonymously at the request of Heard himself who viewed the Gherkin Jerks material as a creative experiment. Later revealed as the work of Larry Heard, original copies of Stomp The Beat rack up a pretty penny on Discogs so it's good work all round that the producer's Alleviated Records label has teamed up with Clone to release a digitally enhanced version. From the mind bending stereo panning of opening track "Don't Dis The Beat" it's easy to see why the Gherkin Jerks material has been so widely praised - Jamal Moss is a big fan - whilst the general off-key melodics and tough 909 arrangements of what follows still sound futuristic some 15 years on.

This one comes from Grant who lays out an elegant vision across four cuts. 'Opportunity' kicks off with analogue grooves laid down beneath warming pads and loose piano chords. Whatever he has on his cornflakes, we want some, because he's done it again here, this time with pal Kelper. 'What I Want' takes up the whole of the a-side and is mix of everything from deep house to minimal to Chicago jack. It's a busy, restless tune with a hooky vocal that keeps you locked. Review: Since 2017 Charles Field has been building up a strong presence in the club world running his own label Hardmatter and recording for the likes of Distant Hawaii. Now the London-based artist is making the move to Scissor & Thread for a four-track trip into mellifluous deep house for discerning heads. As you would expect from the label, this is an understated affair, but the grooves are rock-solid. Hushed ambient tones glide in between the crisp drum machine patter, and Field proves his Jvxta alias to be thoroughly at home on this standout imprint. Just lose yourself in the subdued folds of lead single 'Water Temple' and you'll hear exactly what we mean.

His track on side A 'Growler' is a dusty and swing-fueled deep house jam that is as much off-kilter as it is absolutely infectious. Over on the flip, it's over to Mias Void - better known as Matthias Vogt - the veteran German producer who delivers another offbeat cut on the darkly emotive hi-tech soul of 'We Used To Be Detroit' receiving a remix by Berlin's Iron Curtis up next, injecting it with some mad breakbeats.

Review: Iceland's Thule offshoot label 66 Degrees was a vital label back in the day. After a 20-year hiatus, it came back strong in August and now follows up quickly with a second superb EP. This one is a carefully curated various artists collection that pulls together some local house anthems new and old. Ozy's 'Sequential Dub' is a super smooth deep house number with lush chord work. Sanasol brings heavier, more raw house drums and grinding bass that will get floors in a sweat. Oz Artists mixes up a raw, mechanical groove with balmy, dreamy pads up top to make for something utterly compelling on 'Atomox; while last of all Terry Cummingz pays homage to dusty Windy City house on his perfectly lo-fi 'Cherry Bon Bon. Classy business for sure.

Review: If you're someone who craves a little underground mystique and some grit and grain in their deep tech house, you might well want to check the latest transmission from the shadowy oge collective. On the A-side, 'Contemporanea Mente' gets into a tricky, blippy strain of minimal tech house which opens up beautifully once the classic chords come drifting into the mix. 'Mazzone' summons a vintage early 90s flavour, but there's an inherent weirdness to the processing and sampling which makes this a cut above the average garage house revival joint. 'Mouse Liar' opens up the B-side with a boxy strain of electro steeped in starry-eyed synthesis, which Anania promptly twists up into mystical tripper par excellence.

Review: The Noodles label does not rush things. This is only its third release since launching in May 2020. Once again the eponymous production outfit or solo producer, whoever they, she or he may be, takes care of the sounds and does a fine job of bringing real character to minimal grooves. 'Track 1' is packed with detail, from swirling cosmic pads to a busy melody line and well-placed vocal samples that all bubble and brim with energy. On the flip, it's more stripped-back business with ice-cold and dry rolling drums and a seductive female vocal that gets stretched, smeared and teased throughout.

Review: 2023 has already seen the mighty Red Axes bringing their distinctive chugged-up, freaked-out style to Erol Alkan's Phantasy Sound, but now they're following up with this epic slice of deep immersion for Damian Lazarus' Crosstown Rebels. 'Relax Shiva' is steeped in finely-balanced trance touches which err towards genuine meditation than the slightly more obvious ends of the genre. It's a smouldering, slow-burn affair, but then what else would you expect from the Tel Aviv duo? When you get to the flip, Parisian legend DJ Gregory is on hand to thread his own set of psychoactive drums in around the Axes' sonic elements, creating a different kind of vessel for dancefloor escapism of the most spiritual nature.

Review: Ten years since his first drops on Body Parts et al, Kirik can easily be considered a mainstay of the Eastern European minimal scene, and his Uzvar label has kicked back into action in defiance of the pressure foisted upon his Ukrainian homeland. The latest drop on the label finds him teaming up with Zone+, offering up some charmingly beautiful cuts that place musicality in front of functionality. Don't be mistaken, these tracks all groove and shuffle with the floor in mind, but the shimmering synths on 'Well Well Well' and the hushed pads and keys on 'New Way' all speak on an emotional level, which can only bring magic results when deployed the right way in the dance.

Herck turns in a remix, that adds its own twist courtesy of deftly employed live drum edits, while 'Ratting Club Stories' completes the package with whispered vocals and a neat meshing of a chugging electro b-line and jazzy percussion.
