Julian Anthony - "Raspberry Flurry" (6:27)
Rossi - "Yen" (7:21)
Azire - "Dats Rill" (7:22)
Xhz - "Some Soul" (8:14)
Review: The fourth release on BEEYOU comes from another stellar cast of emergent talents and underground operators, leading in with Julian Anthony and the garage-tinted tech house tough nut, "Raspberry Flurry". Rossi is up next with the cheeky, bouncy-as-hell "Yen" (watch out for that bassline), which sets us up nicely for the smooth strains being unfurled by Azire on the B-side. "Dats Rill" is soaked in mellow chords, but there's still plenty of slap in the drum section to keep the groove rolling. Xhz maintains the melodious vibe with the choice key chops of "Some Soul", with plenty of micro-sounds zipping around the production to keep things sprightly and playful too.

Autre & Xinner - "Nebula" (7:00)
Autre - "Seiryu" (7:02)
Kryptic Universe - "01309 Stairways" (9:04)
Owen Jay & Brian James - "Chordless" (5:25)
Review: Given the success of the first two installments of the Editions series, it's little surprise to see XDB put together a third volume for his Metrolux imprint. He's assembled another crack team of international contributors, too. Autre and Xinner join forces on opener "Nebula", a fine combination of low-slung techno drums, restless electronics and deep space sonics. Autre goes solo to deliver the fluttering, late night hypnotism of "Seiryu", before Kryptic Universe steals the show with "01309 Stairways", a superb chunk of rolling intelligent techno that features an extended ambient intro. Owen Jay and Brian James round things off with the distorted drum machine hits and woozy riffs of "Chordless" (which, to be fair, is an accurate title).

Acid Wash Conflict - 7th City Classics Volume 1
Review: "Acid Was Conflict - 7th City Classics Volume 1" is an absolutely essential techno release. This is the first record in a series of three limited edition re-issues, with selected tracks from the legendary 7th City Detroit catalogue. This monumental re-release features the amazing "Acid Wash Conflict" by the master Claude Young under his Brother From Another Planet alias. This has long stood as a blueprint for minimal music of today, played regularly by the likes of Richie Hawtin, Ricardo Villalobos and Dan bell etc.

Review: Nug-Net.com is an ingenious idea for a website - simply sell nuggets online. Nuggets of what, though? Gold? Weed? Music production expertise? Raw banger ore? We'd wager it's the latter; the story goes that in 2021 during the coronavirus pandemic, the website's mastermind Gene On Earth created his production masterclass 'Nuggets: The Blueprint'. Signing up a select crew of students to submit their music shortly after finishing the course, the class of 2022 is said to have overcome expectations and birthed this digital compilation - the first of five vinyl releases to come out over the course of 2023. Slinky and cheeky house numbers move across acid and breakbeat; perfect sonic accompaniments for surfing the weirder corners of the internet. Even you could be in for a chance: to take the course, visit www.nug-net.com.

Cat: RYR 013. Rel: 09 Feb 08
Tim Cook - "Dip Out"
Charlie Mo - "Hippy Crack"
Martin Skogehall - "Penguino"
Xhin - "5th Hour"
Review: Welcome aboard Flight RYR013, departing from JFK and taking you on a turbulent and twisted journey from the Aviary at the Brooklyn Zoo
to the Waterfront at Portsmouth. There will be several layovers along the way; first stop Singapore, where local player Lee Xhin delivers 20
lashes to your brain with a proper tech-house excursion. '5th Hour' reminds our patrons why we fell for this music in the first place: trippy and
funky with loads of attitude. Next stop, Sweden. Martin Skogehall reminds us to pack the parkas as hypnotic, dreamlike soundscapes meet
us with a January chill. The aptly named 'Penguino' delivers the finest in after-hour Nordic bliss. Onward and upward toward Scotland. AVZ's
'Pully' offers you a mechanical, machine-like psychosis if you choose to accept the mission. Mental, peak-hour business here; this might be
the toughest part of our journey. Our next stop takes us to the UK where Tim Cook unleashes a pounding, forward-thinking techno workout
that is sure to use all the Sky-Miles in one go. Relentless and funky, 'Dip-out' may very well have you tap-out. The last part of our journey has
us return to where it all started. Brooklyn stalwart Charlie Mo trades in the high-tech cement for the pulsing nitrous oxide rhythms of the 'Hippy
Crack'. No silly studio trickery here; just a no-nonsense flight through the haunted sounds of a big-room during a wild landing.

Formula Humo
Operations
Review: The 'One Each EP' has Xpansul on the a-side throwing down 'Formula Humo', a massive dance floor filler with twisted melodic hooks. On the flip, label boss Alexi Delano whips out 'Operations', a deeper track circulating amongst the techno elite for over a year.

Echolocation
Cosmic Antipathy
Vegetotherapy
Meta-Intellectual
Review: Alexi Delano and Santi "Xpansul" Ferrer met during 2004 in Madrid, Spain and have been recording together since. 2006 marks a strong release year for the duo with their debut on Plus 8 as well as a single on Adam Beyer's True Soul label. Both together and separately their recording and performing careers have each taken shape over the last 10 plus years. "Intelligence Reframed" rattles and rolls in true Plus 8 dancefloor spirit, shifting in precise yet animated techno. The A-side lead off track "Echolocation" sends a driving but relaxed beat into a sinister zone of space. "Cosmic Antipathy" grooves along with its electro stabs, square - wave bubbles and cosmic tones that squelch and electrocute. First off the edge of the B - side is "Vegetotherapy", a deeper approach to their sound with a slightly industrialized attitude. "Meta - Intellectual" takes the record out on a surgical bang, tossing up layers of shadow melodies and manic loops of metallic percussion.
Alexi originally hails from Stockholm (Sweden) where he grew into DJing and producing alongside friends Cari Lekebusch and Jesper Dahlback during the early 1990's. From living in cities like Barcelona and now New York, his musical & DJ perspective is global and his sounds continue to expand. Santiago Ferrer runs three labels, Discos De Lata, MSX and Sindicato Records, based out of Madrid. He is one of Spain's most respected electronic music artists and has new releases coming out on Apnea and his own Discos De Lata label.

Pares Y Juego
El Siete De Oros
Review: In 2006 Alexi Delano collaborated with Xpansul in Madrid to create two EP's that have left a footprint on the minimal techno scene. The first EP, named "Intelligence Reframed", was released on Richie Hawtin's Plus 8 label while the second. "Swimming In A Fish Bowl", came out on Adam Beyer's Truesoul recordings. Alexi Delano and Xpansul's third production is now being released on Trapez! The duo further refine Trapez family's well documented love affair with all things Spanish. "Un As Bajo La Manga" is an amazing release.

Foreign Exchange (Tony Rohr remix)
Review: Xpansul and Alexi Delano, the hottest duo of techno, have made some space on their tight schedule full with remixes, releases and gigs to appear for the first time together on Discos De Lata. They bring two tracks that are a perfect example of the sound that has put them on the top places of charts and dancefloors all over the world. "Foreign Exchange" has all the elements of that good old techno we all love: powerful bass, a steady, playful groove, deep and mysterious bassline, elegant and distinctive sounds with that hypnotic touch, and well executed arrangements. A delightful track to play, dance and listen to altogether.

Parasol
Review: DJINXX/Xpansul's Spanish Kebab' is a pulsating tech house track that begins in a minimal fashion and slowly builds and builds,
gaining more energy and tension with each break. A sinister electro synth enters and pushes the melody deeper into your head.
4 minutes into the song, silence hits and slowly builds to an eruption that will cause mayhem on any sound-system. Out on Ovum.

Vladimir Ivanov - "Slambaban"
Xandru - "Chapo"
Fede Lijt - "Do It"
Review: Continuing their quest to represent artists that carry the torch for the most stripped back of club tracks, Vinylclub notch up the second part in their burgeoning series with another three maverick movers and shakers who aren't afraid to hold back in the studio. Vladimir Ivanov is particularly frugal with his sounds, as "Slambaban" whispers out a rhythmic command with the slightest of drums. Xandru is in a similar mood, but with a kinked groove that injects that offbeat energy into "Chapo". For something a little bit sturdier, head to the Fede Lijt track "Do It" which gets straight into the micro funk and calls to mind classic Trapez styles in the process.

M-Bomb (6:02)
E-Dancer (6:22)
D-Edge (7:06)
Review: Matt Edwards aka Radio Slave's Rekids label is back with something a bit different here: it is a debut release from Serbian duo XL Traxx who show off their fierce and jacked-up analogue sounds across three bangers. 'M-Bomb' is the early standout with a classic Chicago house vocal over raw, hard-hitting drums surely made with some proper outboard gear. 'E-Dancer' then offers the sort of loopy synth energy you would expect from a tune with such a name and then the bouncy house and catchy finger clicks of 'D-Edge' have slightly deeper vibes.

Cosine (A Sagittariun Futuro re-dream) (7:11)
Review: From Leeds to London via Bristol; PBR Streetgang and X-Press 2 have collided to create two superb slabs of timeless late night house; "Cosine" is a prog-minded, star-gazing strutter that would have sounded impeccable if it were released at any stage in the last 20 years. "Key Free" is a more upbeat, tech-minded workout with jazzy intentions... The frenetic synth meanders underpinned by a really creepy, ominous synth bass tone that wouldn't have gone amiss on Garnier's F-Com back in the day. For remix pleasure, "Cosine" enjoys a psychedelic twist from Lauer and a crunchy, angular electro b-boy flip from Elastic Dreams man A Sagittariun. Powerful.

Review: PRSPCTV aka XENTRIX is an emerging Belgian techno talent who steps out here with his first release on Musik is Egall. His moody and atmospheric original 'Perspective & Surface' is found on the B-side. It's a hunched-over, stripped-back deep techno and dub fusion with grotty synths and vast incendiary hi-hats hurrying you along. Label co-founder Oliver Hess steps up with his own remix on the A-side and flips the track into something as deep as they come, with dubbed out chords and warm, edgeless but driving kicks and smeared pads all laced up with muffled vocal mutterings and rising synths. It's one for early-evening groove sessions or late-night zone outs.

Review: When it comes to excitable club fodder rooted in club sounds of the late 80s and 90s, the Tone Dropout crew consistently delivers the goods. They're at it again on their 11th multi-artist extravaganza, which giddily sprints between acid-fired breakbeat house with glassy-eyed melodic motifs and spacey bleeps (Sween and Alphonse hook-up 'Downfall'), trancey early progressive house revivalism ('Odyssey T3D' by XOTR), intergalactic electro-bleep fusion (the punchy, Kraftwerk-on-pills excellence of Samuel Padden's 'Teslas Still Alive') and classy bleep and breaks nostalgia (Kostas G's pleasingly sub-heavy, funk break-driven 'Spectrum').
