Integration
Cat: TM 008. Rel: 26 Apr 22
Techno
  1. Adelaar (5:18)
  2. Possibility IV (6:08)
  3. Integration (7:38)
  4. Integration (Anatolian Weapons) (9:16)
Review: Dutch electronic legends Exquisite Corpse return with a new release for Berlin's Transmigration. The Integration EP features two tracks from their archive that Robbert Heijnen allowed the label to press on vinyl for the first time. Both tracks were produced with the late Debbie Jones; there's their typically cerebral tribal trance on "Adelaar", while the experimental "Possibility IV" is a more minimalist journey under Heijnen's Enkidada alias. On side B, the title track receives a remix by Anatolian Weapons (aka Dream Weapons/Fantastikoi Hxoi) which goes into serious mental overdrive.

Lust (remastered)
Cat: TRANSMIGRATION 006. Rel: 02 Oct 20
Industrial/Noise
  1. Love
  2. Lust
  3. Pain
  4. Envy
Review: Heads up, fans of dystopian futures and sexy cyborgs - while you can never be sure what a band, artist or producer was thinking when they started putting pen to paper on new material, the safe money here would be on some all-seeing siren commanding submissive minions to do her bidding in an industry-scarred megatropolis.

Then again, maybe that's just our imagination. Either way, the four tracks here are futuristic slow motion electro breaks with more than a few proggy nuances. It's dark, slightly sinister dance music that's hypnotic and more than a little cinematic. Yet human emotion is at the core, at least thematically. 'Love' asks us if the feeling even exists, as though voiceover belongs to a machine trying to understand another species. 'Lust' oozes suggestion, that whistle hook creating a real rough and ready rave vibe, with closers 'Pain' and 'Envy' packing poised knife edge energy.

Close Encounter
Cat: TM 010. Rel: 03 Aug 22
Uplifting Trance
  1. Close Encounter (13:36)
  2. Equilibrium (13:10)
Review: A reissue of one of Holistic Recordings' prized releases from 1994 (the label were one of the most legit UK trance outfits to come about in the mid 1990s), 'Close Encounter' by Projective Vision is a pair of real ambient energizers. Originally locked in by label founder Steve Dungey in collaboration with Iestyn Polson, the EP was the first of two to be released under their dual moniker. Heraldic, cathartic, analytic, monolithic tunes from the pair.
