Review: Celebrating 21 years in the game, ghetto-house pioneer Slugo reissues some of his most formative work on his own Subterranean Playhouse imprint. Ranging from the dense loopy paranoia of "Strap Up Before You Hit It" to the heavily sampled ghetto-tech of "Where The Rats" by way of the hoe homage "Wouldn't You Like To Be A Hoe Too", Slugo's position at the very forefront of one of Chicago's most enduring scenes is unquestionable. Don't skip his deeper moments, too... "Pajamas" is a pure synth charmer while the knee-swinging groove on "Vulture Life" is unabashed funk.
