Review: Musick for the 'performancoid' installation in 23 parts named Plastic Spider Thing. A ritual piece from Black Sun Productions, who often collaborated in Coil's live performances. Featuring extended and dreamlike remixes of Coil fragments from the 20 years, prior to when it was originally released on World Serpent (2002). Made in 2002 by John Balance & Peter Christopherson, with live collaborators Massimo & Pierce and draZen: the creators of the performance project Plastic Spider Thing (2001 - 2002). They also conceived and starred in the underground porn movies Empire (2002) and Pirate Tape (2005). In May 2012, they announced to disband Black Sun Productions but have since regrouped as Anarcocks. They are said to have taken additional inspiration from The Electric Newspaper, Steinbruchel, Test Department and Nine Inch Nails for the project. A dozen pitch black and haunting drone pieces that will have you levitating in no time! For fans of music of a similar ilk such as Lustmord or Nurse With Wound.

Review: Re-issue of British experimental rock legend Edward Ka Spel and associates' 1995 album From Here You'll Watch The World Go By. The Legendary Pink Dots are an Anglo-Dutch experimental outfit formed in London in 1980. In 1984, the band moved to Amsterdam and started playing with rotating musicians. By this stage in his career ('95), Ka Spel had been living in Nijmegen for some time - which is now the city he calls home. Skinny Puppy's Nivek Ogre and Dresden Dolls' Amanda Palmer consider Ka Spel as a significant influence and he has in-fact gone on to collaborate with both artists. With Ogre in experimental act The Tear Garden and with Palmer on this year's "I Can Spin A Rainbow". This is considered as one of the group's finest moments by many of their fans.

Review: Back in the golden days of cinema, the soundtrack composers used to be almost as important as the directors themselves; scores had a purpose, and they drove the essence of film in the absence of gratuitous special effects or over-stylised method acting. Italy's Ennio Morricone was, of course, the leading composer from the 60s onwards, and it was his music that gave those films a timeless essence. 1972's Barbablu was one such movie, an important part of the Italian film renaissance, and it's classic Morricone brilliance from start to finish. Sweet, seductive, dark, sexy and humorous, the composer followed the film's narrative with an inimitable style and guise. From moments of fear to happiness and oddity, it's a long and adventurous journey which seldom loses direction and mystique at the same time. What a time to be a part of the music scene it must have been... luckily you can own it once more and relive the experience right here. 10/10.
