Review: Over the years AnD have forged a close relationship with Repitch Recordings and together both crews have created a home for '90s inspired hard techno only the bravest DJs take on. Take "Dusty Artefacts", a warehouse-large construction of slamming drums and strangled synths, while "New World Order" squirms like a robotic slug trying to escape the metal crusher out to destroy it. If there was a form of respite on this EP in comes via "All Seeing Eye", that's until the distorted hats begin rattling like a Gatling gun, while "Embryonic" is an ambient, but not quite beatless, mangled transmission of sonic force.

  2. Metempsychosis
Review: Italian crew Repitch Recordings, made up of Ascion, D. Carbone and new school industrial-noise heavy weight Shapednoise usher in the second release in their 10Inch series, which launched in impressive fashion with the split release from Marcelus and Markus Suckut. Using their previous works as a references point, the production of "Basic Impact" suggest more Ascion and D. Carbone input than Shapednoise, as undulating low end grooves, rhythmically delayed hi-hats and traditional techno drums share a similar cadence to Xhin's earlier work on Stroboscopic Artefacts, while the industrialised drum sequences and scorching panoramic noise-scapes of "Metempsychosis" make it undeniably known Shapednoise helmed the controls of this production.

Review: Repitch are back everyone, look out! Ascion, D. Carbone and Shapednoise team up with longtime allies AnD on the final instalment of the Features series and it's as intense as you'd expect: not for the faint of heart! Five cuts of brutalist, bleak and greyscale modern industrial music that bears all the trademarks of each individual producer's sound. From harsh metallic textures and grating modular snarls to the most overdriven kick drums and sinister sci-fi atmospheres. Is this posse going out all guns blazing? You'd better believe it!

Review: Repitch Recordings call upon two of the safest names in underground club music to deliver a solid six-track EP of definitive techno. First up on the A-side are four gritty and unrelenting 909 jams from Sleeparchive, inclusive of two locked grooves, but it's "White Angel Breadline" that's most reminiscent Roger Semsroth's earlier, bleepy hits. Meanwhile Mike Parker sends the Italian crew one dirty modulation loop called "Flying Nerves" while the EP's highlight is a mind bending "Lustrum" - seriously serious techno

Review: Berlin enclave Repitch, operated by the triumvate of Italian producers known as Ascion, D. Carbone and Shapednoise, look back over their four years of operation thus far with a CD compilation entitled Selected Cuts. Some 13 tracks deep, the compilation features previously issued Repitch tracks from the label founders, plus outside contributors like Regis (a suitably brutal remix of Stave), Sleeparchive, AnD, and Marcelus. As a whole it accurately sums up the unrelenting brand of wall shaking techno Repitch has come to represent since emerging in 2011. Closing out the compilation is the previously unreleased "Untitled" production from D.A.S. D.A, a new collaborative project from Repitch's three founders which perhaps offers a hint of the label's future direction.

Review: Dys Functional Electronic Music is a compilation release from Berlin via Italy's Repitch and celebrates the label's first five years. Label head honchos Ascion, D. Carbone and Shapednoise are joined by a selection of artists who have contributed to the label throughout the years, along with 'guests that inspired them in this adventure.' The label has covered club ready industrial techno bangers through to noisy avant garde experimentalism: before their sub label Cosmo Rhythmatic took over as an outlet for such. This compilation does a great job of supporting the evidence. Voices From The Lake's Nuel goes aquatic minimal electro on the wicked "Biopunk", New York Haunted's Drvg Cvlture makes a surprise appearance on the rough and ready "Dead & Gone" while shadowy Swedish producer Skudge appears as well: on the brooding "Buchla.M1000". Rest assured that the usual suspects appear too: Shapednoise serves up his typically extreme noise terror on "0.1dbhisdoi'fioa" while Asicon & D. Carbone serve up an abrasive IDM experiment on "Dritte".

Review: By now we all know what to expect from Violet Poison, well almost. This Aldebaran Alabrahamis Oxakindiss release - easier to cut and paste than say! - sees the shadowy Italian deliver what could traditionally be considered his most 'techno music' EP yet, although it's no where near as visceral as previous 12"s for he and Shapednoise's Violet Poison label and Vatican Shadow's Bed Of Nails. A highlight from the EP is "Track 5" which is reminiscent of the stone crunching techno associated with the Berghain of 2009 and 2010. Down the other end "Track 1" combines these gloomy, reverby, elements with some dark rave which ends up sounding like a disgruntled version of X-101's classic "Sonic Destroyer", while lovers of early Regis will relate to the motoring distortion of "Track 3". For techno DJs looking for five playable tracks of fierce techno, Violet Poison provides this in spades.

Review: Berlin-based techno imprint Repitch returns with more austere and pitch-black techno, courtesy of Polish producer Martyna Maja aka VTSS. A proud alumni of Warsaw's Brutaz club night and Jasna 1 club, in addition to being one of Discwoman's most recent additions, she's in fine form on "Identity Process", following up some great releases on Intrepid Skin and Haven recently. From the brooding rave energy of "Bring The Noize", the barrelling peak time intensity of "Code Red" to the powerful adrenalin of "Devil May Care" which is perfect for those "heads down" moments under the strobe light - Maja lunges straight for the jugular from the get-go on this truly ferocious outing.
