Hot Hands (4:06)
Review: It's been a while since Eddie C last donned his riding gloves and polished his helmet, the best part of a year in fact, but here he is cruising fashionably late into the year with his first release of 2019; "Think (About It)" celebrates the surging 80s soul and production finesse of Rockie Robbins while the B-side nudges us gently towards much balmier climes with undulating twists and turns of Balearic-meets-Latin funk by way of Earl Klugh's "Hot Hands". And he's not talking about the riding gloves...

Golyak
Review: On point... Not just an apt name for the latest instalment of his super-collectable 7" series, but the perfect way to describe Eddie C's abilities as a disco and funk merchant. Released just weeks after his killer album Country City Country was repressed (by popular demand), both of these original cuts shimmer with funk decadence; "On Point" is a stripped back slap bass and string groove with heaps of space that allows the big squishy synth licks to shine through on the fills. "Golyak", meanwhile, stumbles and lulls with a rustic south European folk soul. Beautiful.

Free Love
Far West
Review: Edit champion Eddie C serves up two brand new original works for Red Motorbike and they both scream summertime vibes. "Free Love" is a kind of Doobie Brothers / Ojays fusion with a tight funk groove and emphatic soulful vocals that aren't dissimilar to Isaac Hayes's backing band. "Far West" is much more languid, deeper and more cosmic thanks to its crisp guitar plucks, sun-bleached bass thumps and overall Krautrocky synth washes. Hand-stamped and limited, this needs your attention right now!

The Day Will Come (4:13)
Moonrings (4:01)
Review: Two more delicious roadtrips from the Red Motorbike founder and spiritual leader Eddie C: "The Day Will Come" is a lilting, sample-heavy head-nodder that develops its own stop/start momentum as the deftly sliced strings and vocals are recontextualised to great effect. "Moonrings" is a more floor-focused dub disco affair as the chugging groove lets the guitars ripple, the keys skitter and scatter and the flutes waft trippily into the ether. Get the motor running... this one's a keeper.

The Touch
Review: One hand-stamped 7" from Edward of C's Red Motorbike label, two totally different stories... "Farmer God" is a yarn of unfettered Balearic proportions. Languishing somewhere in the Wild West, 150 years ago, it's a lolloping composition where each nylon string weep is echoed by an equally mournful organ flurry. The chips-are-down soundtrack to any great western, it's Eddie at his most sedate and contemplative. "The Touch" brings us back to the present day by way of a sexy mid-tempo strut. All disco bubbles and overlayed pianos, this should really be a 10" just to accommodate the feel good vibes.

Space Glide (4:08)
Werewolf Invasion (3:33)
Review: More headnod gold from everyone's favourite midnight rider Eddie C. "Space Glide" chugs away marvellously at around 92BPM with a bassline so wet and slimy it should come with its own 18 certificate. "Werewolf Invasion" maintains the hypnotic slo-mo momentum but added late night graveyard feels thanks to a grainy cosmicity and strange unworldly textures. Don't sleep.

D8 With The Rain (4:07)
Sweet Honey (4:03)
Review: It's time to don your leathers and strap in for another ride on go-slow master Eddie C's Read Motorbike. This time out the Canadian deep disco specialist kicks off his latest 7" with 'D8 With The Rain.' As always it is a super smooth groove that is smartly embellished with dusty old samples that tug at the heart. 'Sweet Honey' is a sunny one with plenty of joyous little chords and a carefree groove that flaps and slaps away down low. Easy to love, hard to pull-off grooves once again from the evergreen Eddie C.

Track 1
Track 2
Review: Now firmly ensconced in Berlin, Eddie C's last abiding memories of Banff, Canada, are wrapped up in this dinky seven inch, the second release on his fledgling Red Motorbike label. "Smile Again" was recorded with Common Edit boss Dane in the studio time before Mr C strode across the Atlantic, revisiting The Torpoons project last seen on The Cosmic Muskrat 7" for a shamelessly uptempo romp through disco that's almost too big for such a small format. Flipside and 7 Inches Of Love main man Koosh adds some tempo based variance with a west coast beat down funker in the shape of "Luv Handles".

El Molito - "Can't You See I'm Having A Rough Time"
Cristobal & Koosh - "Secret Rendezvous"
Review: There's only one single drawback on this release. As there is with the other Red Motorbike releases... Grooves as juicy and cosmic as these should be pressed to 12 for more sonic dynamism! This is such a small gripe, however, as these collectable 7"s are lovingly stamped in Hamburg by Red Motorbike boss Eddie C himself... And they sound amazing anyway. "Can't You See..." is a lolloping slinky slap-bass loop that's been processed to deadly hypnotic effect. "Secret Rendezvous", meanwhile, is more of the Nordic school of disco, sounding like Terje on a sleepy morning. On your bikes!

Elado - "Hipos" (4:13)
Eddie C - "Crazy Heart" (4:09)
Review: Eddie C's Red Motorbike journeys on with another tasty 7" morsel from the boss himself, this time split with Elado. That is who goes first on the guitar licked, Americana tinged, disco dripped "Hipos" which is a perfect tune for gazing off at a distant sunset as you sway to and fro on an outdoor dance floor. Eddie C's "Crazy Heart" chugs a it harder, with busy melodic phrases riding up and down the scale over chunky drums. As always with Red Motorbike, this is grown up music for grown up dance floors, but that's not to say it isn't hella fun.

Fake Glasses - "Dancehall" (6:03)
Noodleman - "Acid Ting" (9:14)
Review: Eddie C invites Fake Glasses and The Noodleman to straddle his crimson two-wheeler for two deep dub disco delights: The former gets his treacle-like squelch on as he flexes around a short vocal hook and sweet skank, using chubby acid as a means of melodic bass dynamic. The latter goes deeper again with warm kick, a sheet metal snare and a low-end flow that's so thick it's almost toxic. Limited and hand-stamped, this is nothing short of stunning.

Frasier - "Into My Dub" (9:52)
Eddie C - "From Afar" (4:58)
Koosh - "Way Out If It Man" (4:22)
Review: The red engine's revving once again, and it's big enough to seat three men. Chief label racer Eddie C lays down a cosmic strut of eastern proportions with kaleidoscope whirls of kicks, pads and sitars. Joining him are familiar riders (Koosh) and new (Fraiser). The former lays down a bad trip DJ tool, all highs and cries and strange dubby textures. The latter provides the centrepiece: a chugging stately groove that opens up into pure sunshine soul when you least expect it.

Moon Tan - "Gel Dust" (4:00)
Eddie C - "The Southern Nights" (2:47)
Review: Eddie C's Red Motorbike rolls into town again. They are sticking to the 7" format for this one, as Eddie splits the release with Moon Tan with two more slinky, late night grooves await and the scissors and tape are expertly wielded. Hand stamped, 7" vinyl only business. The first side is courtesy of boss man Eddie who serves up the deep and loungey disco business of "The Southern Nights". New York City duo Moon Tan are on the B side with druggy, lo-slung edit of "Gel Dust" which sounds like you've downed a bunch of Quaaludes on the living room dancefloor. Previous editions have served up resplices by fellow countrymen The Noodleman and Roberto, as well as Koosh and Cem G. Following in the tradition on his acclaimed 7 inches Of Love series.

Roberto - "Safari" (4:11)
Eddie C - "Slippin' Away" (4:15)
Review: The latest sneaky 7" from Eddie C's Red Motorbike imprint is a split affair, with the Canadian producer being joined by sometime Conga Radio man Robert S (this time under the previously unused Roberto alias). The latter delivers "Safari", an unfeasibly tactile fusion of sensual, slo-mo beats, looped new age synthesizer refrains and sleazy, late night saxophone. In contrast, Eddie C's "Slippin Away" mines the world of disco-rock for inspiration, re-editing a chunky, break-driven, organ-laden groover and turning it into a real dancefloor treat. As he often does, the Canadian has added a touch of dub delay and a few filter sweeps to keep things cosmic.

Say Hello To Love (8:49)
Make Your Mind (9:09)
Review: Here's something of a treat for those of a Balearic persuasion: a musical meeting of minds between the ever magnificent Seahawks and the similarly talented Eddie C, on the latter's Red Motorbike imprint. "Say Hello To Love" sounds like it was created to accompany long, endless sunsets, with woozy guitar lines, gravelly vocals and swirling chords wrapping themselves around a lolloping groove. Things get trippy on the flip, where all parties neck a whole load of hallucinogens and lay down the kind of psychedelic fusion of electronics, effects-laden guitars and hissing percussion of which dear old Syd Barrett would no doubt approve.

Knotin & Dame - "Pa Pa Pa Paaa" (3:23)
CEMG - "Don't Go" (outro) (4:26)
Review: Get the motor running, Eddie C's crimson Harley is on the High Road and cruising at a stately, limited hand-stamped speed. There's no danger of getting a ticket when beats are as luxuriously languishing as El Molito's dusty organ massages on "Put Some", the dreamy lullaby that is HRENO's "Closely Now" and the glistening guitar ripples of Eddie's "So Remoteman". But the ride isn't always smooth; Hrdvision's "BNW8N4U" gets a little white knuckle with its icy modularisms and snub nosed arpeggio and the warm-but-insistent jazz house stamps of Koosh's "Mouthful Of Gold Teeth" ensure you will creep over 55 at points during the journey... And you'll love every law-breaking second of it.
