Review: Quasar may be a new name in the ever-lively world of deep house, but his tunes sound like they're rooted in years of the culture. "A Song For Us" is a peppy, upfront workout with a snapping set of handclaps that will lock your body to the beat effortlessly. "Houston 1990" is a bold, bashy affair with zappy kicks and a soaring melodic section, while "I Never Thought I'd See The Day" takes things on a more melancholic trip with its downcast harmonies. EP closer "Like A Yellow Frisbee" trades on plaintive chords and a distant soul sample to make a real heart-stirrer of a track. Strong stuff for a first outing.
