Review: Spanish label Night Shift welcome Belgian duo Chasse to drop some seriously classy dancefloor jams for those who really know how to move. "Pilot" is an effervescent cut that places musicality at the front of the mix, all nimble keys and live drum funk of the highest order. "Dig Him" is an uplifting disco workout that loops it up in all the right places, and "Oh Franck" pumps the rhythm section a little more to head towards the house heads. "In Your Stride" is an unabashed reworking of "Boogie Nights" that takes on a dreamy quality as it chops the original into a fresh configuration.

Review: German DJ and producer Delfonic has been putting out great edits and reworks for some time on labels like Razor-N-Tape, Too Slow To Disco, or Nomada, but he has gained great recognition thanks especially to the Illegal Jazz series with his friend Kapote from Toy Tonics. Now comes his debut for Night Shift Records with an EP of four edits entitled 'The Journey Reworked' that reveals all his good work when it comes to giving new life to classic tracks and making them perfect for today's dancefloors. Side A opens with 'Boogie On', a classic that never fails with its funky guitar and signature piano, followed by 'It's Dancing Time', a dark dance track full of tropical disco vibes. On the B-side we find 'Bring On The Music', a perfect example of a funky disco rework with great voices and melodies, and to close 'The Mass Fire', an authentic hurricane of funky rhodes, boogie horns and crazy rhythms that will make you dance until dawn.

Review: It feels like barely any time has passed since Javi Frias last set our bags alight with "Just Give It Up", but he's back once more on his own Night Shift with more of those oh-so-cool edits to share with the world. The strain of disco funk he's digging into on this record is just sublime, particularly on the A side with the self-explanatory "Party Music" and sweet string sizzle of "Keep On". On the B side there's a fiercer uptempo slant to "So Tight" and a more classic soul feel to "Everything" - one to bring a crowd together in a moment of heartfelt expression whether they know the words or not.

Review: Since making his bow on Street Edits six years ago, Javi Frias has delivered a string of fine rework EPs for the likes of Midnight Riot, Tropical Disco and, most frequently, his own Night Shift imprint. Here he returns with his first EP of 2021, a typically club-ready selection of re-edits. The fast-rising Spanish producer hits the ground running with a sweaty, subtly beefed-up take on an old Controllers classic (the house-style revision that is 'Universal Sound'), before delivering a more reverential - but no less rolling - revision of a lesser-known disco-funk cut 'On Fire'. 'Guitar Jam' lives up to its' name - think loose-limbed disco-funk featuring effects-laden guitars -while 'Really Need To Talk', a sublime rearrangement of a 1970s modern soul gem, is our pick of a very strong bunch.

Review: The fourth installment on Madrid based Night Shift Records is served by label boss Javi Frias, offering a couple of top notch disco edits. 'Just Give It Up' is the A side track, a obscure late 80s boogie track with a house feel that has been retouched and extended to get the maximun pleasure on the dance floor. On the B side you can find 'Come On And Take Me', a disco funk mover with a killer groove, nice vocals and tight synths that surely will make you scream for more.

Review: The first EP on new edit imprint Nightshift Recordings comes from Javi Frias, an experienced scalpel fiend whose rearrangements have previously appeared on Street Edits, Midnight Riot and Giant Cuts. The four reworks here all sound like they've been extensively tried and tested on dancefloors, and tend towards the party-starting variety. The Madrid-based producer wisely keeps things varied, pairing the sweet and groovy "Make It Happen" with the boogie-era gospel disco of "Power" on the A-side. On the reverse, you'll find the sweaty, tooled-up, peak-time disco-house pump of "Gonna Feel So Good" and the punchy, horn-heavy disco-funk swagger of "Hard Edge & Paint".

Review: Spanish funk, soul and disco champion Javi Frias returns with the second release on his Night Shift label, bringing more of that classically informed party-starting business for those who love their classic disco edits. "Tender Feeling" sounds like a perfect transplant from the dancefloor of Studio 54, while "Move To The Groove" is equally entrenched in the finest 70s-styled heat. "Supah Stah" and "Swahili Dance" are equally no slouches when it comes to channeling the best elements of that golden era disco sound - Javi Frias has this music in his blood and anyone that feels the same will be all over this record, dancers and DJs alike.

Review: Spanish DJ, producer and Night Shift records boss Javi Frias presents a new EP of disco edits that take the vibes of the 70s and re-fit them for the current dancefloor. As you might imagine, each of the four tracks seemingly has PARTY stamped across it in giant capital lettering, from the opening stomper 'Hot Damn!' with its bright-as-a-button brass section and the wah wah guitar of 'Dance To The Music' to the proto-house of 'The Spirit'. But the best is saved to last - the bendy funk bassline gymnastics of 'Feel Good', quite irresistible.

Review: Javi Frias has earned a solid reputation as a producer on the international disco scene since he began releasing his edits and reworks back in 2015. However, this year, during confinement, he decided to put editing aside to unleash his creativity and start recording his own productions, playing with synthesizers, electric pianos, syncopated basses and tribal percussion, and the result is this 'Sunset Disco EP'. A collection of songs that take us to a summer sunset on a beach in paradise that represent a huge leap in the career of this artist. The A side begins with 'Give Love', a hedonistic and melancholic disco song, followed by 'Noche Tropical', with Balearic overtones and reminiscences of a Caribbean party. Side B opens with 'Are You Really Fellas?', a funky little number featuring jazzy guitars and smashing bass. 'Dance With Me' brings us back to the field of the emotional and evocative disco. And finally 'Musical Connection', with touches of reggae downtempo perfect to say goodbye to this eternal and warm sunset.

Review: REPRESS ALERT!: Madrid-based edit stable Night Shift have invited Never Dull back for another volume of Discollection heaters, pitching classic, funkified grooves towards the peak time. This is disco house in full flight, kicking off with the joyous 'Cool Love' before slinking down into the heated, late night seduction of 'Get A Little'. 'Want My Love' kicks off the B side on a decidedly sentimental tip, but not at the expense of the beat, and 'Whatever U Want' turns up the pressure for a romp through pumping, vocoder licked goodness that would get a Daft Punk fan shaking their thing, no sweat.

Review: Alberto De Santiago has already slipped out a few killer edit-rich hits, which drew favourable attention from Spanish label Night Shift. He launches the Discollection EP with the soul-soaked feel-good flavour of "Love Sauce," steeped in the finest disco ingredients to inspire impassioned expression on the floor. The heat stays right up for "Since I've Been Gone", which is packed full of Philly strings aplenty and enough dramatic drops and chops to melt even the hardest frown. "Most Expensive Diamond" and "All The Way" have that magic touch too - these are loud and proud vocal edits to get people dancing on the ceiling. You can't go wrong with classic source material like this - Never Dull indeed.

Review: 2021 is being a very prolific year for Spanish label Night Shift Records with all their releases reaching the top of the sales charts. After the success of the past references by the owner of the label Javi Frias and the San Diego superstar Never Dull, now it is the turn of Solazz, founding member of the Supa Disco project born five years ago in Ibiza, which debuts at the label with an amazing four track EP titled 'Highlife Disco'. Side A includes 'Work It Out', a great rework that includes a great bass line added to the original that makes it irresistible to dance, and 'Time's Running' a groovy summer vibe track that contains high-pitch voice side-walking with a top synth bass. On the B side, 'Roller Skate INC' strikes your body with conga rhythms and a funky bass, and last but not least 'Highlife Music', a killer track of afro-disco with piano house touches, evolving synths and great sax solo that will make you dance again!
