Review: Lovedancing's latest missive is something of an all-star affair, with Canadian hero Eddie C and Whiskey Disco boss Sleazy McQueen contributing tracks alongside Colombian producer Felipe Gordon and fast-rising scalpel fiend Vagabundo Club Social. The latter joins forces with Gordon for the deep house/deep Latin disco fusion of "Basilio" - all jammed-out Rhodes riffs, heavily percussive grooves and chanted vocals - which is in turn re-imagined as a horn-heavy Latin disco-funk workout by Eddie Stomp. The Vagabundo returns to action alongside regular studio partner Sleazy Mcqueen on B-side opener "Chips Y Salsoul" - warm and deep disco-house vibes with added trumpet solo action - before Eddie C rounds things off with the shuffling, string-laden disco-house loveliness of "Be There".

Review: Based out of Detroit, Pontchartrain come forth with their debut vinyl release on the Lovedancing label after providing the highlight of a split 12" from the Whiskey Disco operation late last year. Setting the bar very high indeed, the Detroiter delivers a trio of tight, sample heavy house cuts that will ease their way into your affections and record boxes and leave neither for some time. "Burning" is a quite wondrous flip on Gwen McCrae classic "Keep The Fire Burning" that really teases out the source material over seven minutes. "Hugging" rewires Joe Thomas' "Plato's Retreat" to the extent the vocal is discarded completely whilst "Sinner" turns a Nina Simone classic into a blinding house cut. This is what edits are supposed to sound like.

Review: Sleazy McQueen and Jorge Collazo's Space Coast project unleashed Crystal Lake on us in 2014 and now we get a second serving of remixes. Mark E's remix of "Meet Me In The West End" is best described as a cosmic acid house odyssey.. and it's wicked! Tel Aviv's RaBo and SnoB give "Please Release Me" a pornified 70's disco funk makeover that ain't too bad either. On the flip the classic disco vibes continue courtesy of New York's Jason Kriveloff aka Jkriv with his take on "Get Away, Get Away" but they leave the best 'til last with "Love Games (part 2 - Homeboy dub)" the kind of epic nu-disco gem that sounds like Eric Duncan aka Dr. Dunks when he's on point.
