Review: If you have spent any time in a club lately you will no doubt be eminently familiar with the ILO edit of "Warp" from obscure English band New Musik which took on cultish quantities when 'represses' emerged on the shelves of record shops everywhere. olafur Breidfjord returns here with some new ILO reworks, seemingly coaxed into reworking the immediately recognisable thrust of "Eisbar" by Grauzone after spotting an online review suggesting he should do just that. Whilst there's no shortage of edits of the iconic Neue Deutsche Welle track by the 80's Swiss band, ILO does offer a slightly different and darker rework here. It's complemented by something a whole lot brighter in the shape of "Love Of My Own" where ILO twists a sweet female vocal refrain around crisp, flexing kick drums and a sinewy double bass line.

Review: The crew behind that monumental Ilo edit which you will have heard if you stepped in a club any time over the past year come through with a new label called Lo Fi Edits, with this debut offering brandishing five super spacey disco edits for the price of a ten bag. During the trip expect to be plucked from reality with the same tight guitar string picks of Kikroko's "Man This Is My Girl", look forward to some serious robotic struts on the Italo classic "Takin' It Straight", prepare for a savvy string massage on "Space Sentry", anticipate a sloppy bass kiss upside your chops on "Boogieasy" and be sure to receive the loopy, filtered funk finale that is the "Makin Love To The Music" sucker punch. Wow.

The LoFi Edits label has had a fantastic run over its first few releases and now it narks double figures with another very enticing 12". This one sided and coloured slab of wax is loaded up with retro disco soul goodness. 'Track 1 (Disco dub #1)' has many layers of synth, off-balance drums and fizzy melodies that take you right back to the days of Paradise garage. The production is raw and, yep, lo fi, with a real edginess to it. 'Track 2 (Disco dub #2)' then gets more flashy, with synths that reach skyward and train track grooves that lift you off your feet.
