Review: He calls it Electronica Afro-Cubano, we call it soulful electro. Taking the genre's classic sci-fi synthetic aesthetics and coding them with his own Cuban musical heritage, there's a real funk and spirit in Armando's machines. The carnivalian drum frenzy of "Afriba", the tipped humanized elements of "Shake", the hypnotic house headnods of "Black Mermaid" the roomy reverberations and lean make-up of "Whale Memory" and plenty more comprise a unique melting pot that references all points past and future.

Review: Detroit Grand Pubahs and UR member Bileebob goes it alone here on some superb Interdimensional Transmissions. 'Stars Cross' layers up gurgling bass and slapping hits with icy hi-hats. It's a rugged electro workout that becomes more lively when served up as an instrumental. The always good value Derek Plaslaiko then steps up with a remix that is more tripped out and laced with manic acid. Last of all is the quick, caustic electro-tech of 'Network.' It's a sleazy tune with plenty of raw Detroit authentic and dance floor clout.

Review: On this EP the Detroit musician and visual artist Ron Zakrin shows that he is truly the king of the synth riffs, with music that is wholly synthetic, yet with all the energy of pure Detroit rock.

Review: The return of the electro great. Perspects, famed for releases on the seminal Ersatz Audio label, home of the uber trendy 'Adult'. Not quite sure what happened to Adult actually...we think perhaps the just trend imploded. Anyway, following on from where Adult should have been taking their sound, pop up Perspects. Will appeal to the serious electro heads and the diagonal fringe brigade (if they are still trendy that is).

Review: From his early days in Le Car to last year's smash 'Flesh And Bone' with The Hacker, the music of Ian Clark has been making an impact for over a decade. Perspects on Interdimensional Transmissions is his strongest music to date. With his unified Peopleskills concept, Perspects shares new directions and ideas. This is demonstrated by his heavy vocal presence (sometimes in a Bryan Ferry/Brian Eno sort of way) and the incorporation of live drums into his sequenced sound, hinting at a whole new sound and approach. Available on 12 track double vinyl with lyric sheet (featuring one track exclusive to vinyl), and 13 track CD (featuring two tracks exclusive to CD).
