Review: Daniel "Blackbelt" Andersen's self-titled follow-up to his 2009 debut album is an effortlessly atmospheric delight. It's noticeably deeper than its predecessor, with less emphasis on bold riffs and space disco builds, instead focusing on sparkling, stargazing tracks. To these ears it sounds like Andersen was influenced less by his Scandolearic peers, and more by vintage Detroit techno tracks, intergalactic ambient albums and moody deep house 12s. Of course, there's still some Norse disco influences present - see "Lagnalappe Del 1" and "2", as well as the comforting grooves of "Stressa Ut" - but they're largely buried under a blanket of twinkling stars.

Review: After his much applauded tribute to Manuel Göttsching, Norwegian martial arts grand wizard Blackbelt Anderson returns with another deadly sample of his secret technique: the main cut "Alfaz De Pi" moulds the ancient styles of cowbell driven space disco and ruff acid into a powerful weapon for dancefloor action. "Sandoz" overwhelms in a more gentle way, with its sweeping Balearic chords and the melancholic melody. The Prins Thomas edited "Snake Eyes" hands out some hard capoeira style slaps.

Review: Last seen operating under the Zauberflauten alias, Norse DJ and producer Jarle Brathen resurfaces under his given name with this excellent slab of Scando-Italo for Full Pupp. Brathen should be familiar to followers of Prins Thomas's enduring label, having contributed to Full Pupp several times over as one half of Ytre Rymden Dansskola alongside Marius Vareid as well as one previous solo drop in 2009. The Italiano Fantastico 12" finds Brathen in fine fettle, dropping two slices of effervescent Nordic Italo disco pitched perfectly for the modern discotheque, with the vivid textures of the title track perhaps just shading it.

Review: To celebrate ten years of the Full Pupp label, Prins Thomas has drafted in a host of label characters past and present for four various artist 12"s. The first of them sees the pumping and hypnotic "Stjernekrigen" from Jarle Brathen, the more funk-infused sounds of Casiokids' "Den Lange Veien Hjen", the pensive analogue sounds of Erik Skantze's "Stargaze" and Markus Varied's "No Vil Eg Bort Og Gifta Meg Og Rydja Meg Ein Gard", which creates a disco odyssey filled with jazz rhythms worthy of its tongue-twister of a name.

Review: Prins Thomas' Full Pupp label seems to excel at finding hitherto unknown Norwegian disco talent. Here, it offers up the debut full-length from Oslo native Andre Bratten, who apparently shares studio space with Lindstrom and Todd Terje. Comparisons with both producers are understandable; Be A Man You Ant's shimmering vintage synths, stargazing melodies and chugging space disco grooves (particularly those on the intoxicating "Aegis") are reminiscent of both producers' early work. It's already been pointed out that "Libra" shares an aesthetic with Terje's "Inspector Norse", while the quirky "Still Sertie" and mutant funk oddity "I Am Square" bear all the hallmarks of a Six Cups of Rebel B-side. Clearly, Bratten is a talent to watch.

Review: Full Pupp invite you into the world of another aspiring homegrown talent with the cheekily titled Be A Man You Ant, the debut album from the unheralded Andre Bratten.. The Oslo-based artist is a product of his Scandinavian environment of synth pop and disco, churning out his seven-track Be A Man You Ant LP in the same studio space as Norway's production royals Lindstrom, Todd Terje and Prins Thomas. Citing the likes of Led Zeppelin, Royksopp, Metro Area and Brian Eno as inspirations, Bratten limited much of his production on Be A Man You Ant to one modular synthesiser. Relishing the constraints imposed on him, Bratten sculpts a varied array of squelches and gurgles alongside neon melodies and thrumming drum machines. A welcome addition to the Full Pupp cause!

Review: The second sampler celebrating Full Pupp's 10 years in the business of releasing records kicks off with Andrea Bratten's "Every Fourth Bar", a veritable Scando-disco stomper which puts us in mind of some of the label's most classic output. The other tracks aren't too bad either: Randaberg Ego Ensemble's "You Can't Do It Right" provides a heavy percussive jam for those who like things free flowing and stripped back, the shameless vocal house of Blackbelt Andersen's "Langniappe" and one of Prins Thomas's trademark Diskomiks versions of Mental Overdrive's "Spoks", which takes things into expectedly cosmic territory.

Review: For the first of (we think) two sets of remixes of tracks from CHMMR's superb debut album, Auto, Full Pupp boss Prins Thomas has enlisted the talents of two of the most inspired Norwegian producers of recent times: Telephones and DJ Fett Burger (here appearing under one of his other aliases, DJ Dog). Each delivers a "main" version in their distinctive style (Telephones "Energized Mix" of "Pretty Space" boasts his usual tropical textures, dream house influences and tactile grooves, while Fett Burger and Double Dancer's "Spit Daddy Jazz Lounge Mix" of "Wall-Y" is similarly warm, but a little more percussive and eccentric), plus their own take on a drum dub. We'd say Telephones wins that particular battle, as his Bjorn Torske-inspired "Gren Fatarik Oo-mox Dub" is ridiculously heavy.

Review: Two years on from his last appearance on Full Pupp, Even 'CHMMR' Brenden returns to Prins Thomas' label with three more distinctive chunks of Scandolearic disco/house fusion. The undoubted centrepiece is title track "Media Vision", a thrillingly sparse and analogue-sounding epic built around slo-mo drum machine rhythms, thick acid bass, lilting melodies, stretched-out percussion sections, and occasional ghostly synths. Those looking for more upbeat, peaktime fare are well catered for on the A-side, both by the grunting, warehouse-friendly synth-house pump of druggy opener "Understand", and the cheery, piano-sporting bounce of midtempo anthem "User".

Review: Even "CHMMR" Brenden's debut album has been a long time coming. The Norwegian put out his first 12" on Lunar Flicks way back in 2010 and made the transfer to Prins Thomas's Full Pupp imprint three years later. The influence of Brenden's label boss is evident throughout the ten tracks, with the producer blending his own inspirations - South African disco (check the brilliant "Alles City Beat"), dusty deep house (the warm and luscious "New Slam") and weirdo mid '80s oddities ("Pretty Space") - with the sort of sonic traits regularly found in Norwegian electronic music (heavy dub disco basslines, new age synthesizer motifs, Scandolearic melodies, nods to krautrock and Italo-disco etc.). It's a blend that guarantees a string of fine moments, not to mention a hugely entertaining album.

Review: The latest Norwegian talent to join the Full Pupp family is Laars, a producer previously known for his involvement with Norse disco band Tog. The two tracks showcased here neatly fit into the Scandolearic blueprint, with Laars layering rising, blissfully Balearic synthesizer melodies over a chugging, arpeggio-style groove on brilliant opener "None". He flips the script a little on "LYSaR", clustering fizzing, intergalactic electronics, deep space riffs and jammed-out Clavinet lines around a rolling, cowbell and bongo heavy rhythm track. Willy Nickerson handles remix duties, first serving up a loose, dense, druggy and pitched-down interpretation of "None", before turning "LYSaR" into a spacey chunk of Afro-disco madness.

Review: Way back in 2005 Prins Thomas called upon Todd Terje to launch his own Full Pupp label, an offshoot of Steve Kotey's Bear Entertainment. Over the years, Full Pupp has acted as a platform for Nordic talent, releasing music from diskJokke, Blackbelt Andersen, Marius Vareid and of course Prins Thomas, whilst expanding to include the more internationally focused Internasjonal and Internasjonal Spesial sister labels. This sampler is the final instalment in Full Pupp's four pronged vinyl celebration for reaching ten years of scandolearic goodness - a CD version is also due for the compact disco heads - and commences in delightfully cheeky fashion with Magnus International's remix of "Vos-Sako-Rv" by Lindstrom, just wait for those vocals! Jarle Brathen and Marius Vareid invoke the spirit of sunset Ibiza with their contribution as Ytre Rymden Dansskola, whilst Magnus International ensures he owns this 12" with the killer breakbeat Balearic monster "Compilation".

Review: Right on cue Magnus International comes through with his third release in some six years on Prins Thomas' Full Pupp label, following a solo debut in 2006 and a second drop in 2009. Regarded warmly by Full Pupp as the "least prolific (aka lazy) family member", you can forgive such production slumber from Magnus when he's capable of crafting such wondrous Norse disco gems as "Gamlefar". A superlative example of his knack for combining melody and drama, both Prins Thomas and Todd Terje have been treating audiences to "Gamlefar" for a while now, and it's right up there with "Inspector Norse" for us. The burning electro disco of "Das Magnus" is not far behind on a five track release that makes the prospect of a forthcoming Magnus International long player something contemporary disco fans should be excited about.

Review: It would be fair to say that Magnus Sheehan has taken his time over Echo To Echo, his long-promised debut album for Full Pupp. Since debuting back in 2006 with the brilliant "Kosmetisk", the Oslo-based producer has delivered sporadic singles that hint at greatness. Echo To Echo is, thankfully, a largely impressive affair, with his trademark spacey, colourful synthesizers taking pride of place throughout. Stylistically, it's perhaps a little more varied than you might expect, frequently veering off his familiar Scandolearic nu-disco course to take in elements of dreamy deep house, tactile techno, IDM, electronica and an obviously icy take on new-wave. Throughout, it remains melodious and evocative, as with much of the best Norwegian electronic music.

Review: There's predictably plenty to enjoy on the latest outing from synthesizer-obsessed Norwegian Magnus Sheehan, whose 2016 debut album, Echo to Echo, was something of an overlooked gem. He begins in confident mood with the jacking and mind-altering throb of "Fluted Oval", before mixing typical Scandolearic dreaminess with glistening, Chris Lowe style melodies on the standout "Julienne". It's arguably the nearest he's come for a while to matching the rush-inducing bliss of debut single "Kosmetisk". Elsewhere, "Mirepoix" is a wonderfully angular chunk of muscular (or possibly modular) machine funk, while Chmmr's remix of "Synths of Jupiter" is an orgasmic fusion of boogie synths and saucer-eyed Balearic disco grooves.

Review: Oyvind Morken might not be that well known outside of his hometown of Oslo, but this debut release for Full Pupp is testament to the Norwegian city's ever bustling scene. Described by the label as 'Oslo's ultimate DJ,' Morken's also been running the under rated Lunarflicks label alongside DJ Strangefruit of Mungolian Jetset fame and Fjordfunk's Kango since 2008, issuing material from Diskjokke, Hardway Bros and Skatebard. Such a sense of curation demonstrates Morken knows his onions and it's clearly rubbed off on his production style. The 3 cuts here fit snugly into the Full Pupp canon, betraying a cheeky mastery of analogue hardware that veers through New Beat, classic house and flatulent disco.

Review: Recently, Prins Thomas's Full Pupp label released its' 50th single, some ten years after debuting with Todd Terje's Mjondalen Diskoklubb. This 51st release comes from Oslo's Oyvind Morken, and marks his third single for the Norwegian imprint. In general, it's a typically cheery affair, built around positive synthesizer lines, chugging, Italo-influenced grooves, bouncy percussion and occasional nods to vintage Chicago house. There's plenty to get excited about, from the Lamont Booker inspired silliness of "New Age Of Smokin" and jaunty "Dance Of The Drunk", to the low-slung, Chicago-influenced rhythmic chug, alien melodies and Pure Trance-era KLF feel of "Unholy Trance".

Review: You shouldn't underestimate the positive impact of Prins Thomas' Full Pupp label on the electronic music scene in Norway. Having introduced the world to the likes of Todd Terje, Skatebard and Blackbelt Andersen back in the mid noughties, the label continues to offer opportunities to previously unknown Norwegian space disco producers. Tarjei Nygard is one of those producers. He made his debut on the imprint last year, and here lays down another impressive chunk of hard-edged, synth-laden, analogue-influenced Nordic disco - all arpeggio bass, twinkling electronic melodies and steadfast grooves. Tarjei himself delivers a sweaty, carnival-friendly remix built around tough Latin percussion, while Prins Thomas transforms the track into a classic chunk of wide-eyed Scandolearic brilliance
