Review: Daniel "Blackbelt" Andersen's self-titled follow-up to his 2009 debut album is an effortlessly atmospheric delight. It's noticeably deeper than its predecessor, with less emphasis on bold riffs and space disco builds, instead focusing on sparkling, stargazing tracks. To these ears it sounds like Andersen was influenced less by his Scandolearic peers, and more by vintage Detroit techno tracks, intergalactic ambient albums and moody deep house 12s. Of course, there's still some Norse disco influences present - see "Lagnalappe Del 1" and "2", as well as the comforting grooves of "Stressa Ut" - but they're largely buried under a blanket of twinkling stars.

Review: Prins Thomas' Full Pupp label seems to excel at finding hitherto unknown Norwegian disco talent. Here, it offers up the debut full-length from Oslo native Andre Bratten, who apparently shares studio space with Lindstrom and Todd Terje. Comparisons with both producers are understandable; Be A Man You Ant's shimmering vintage synths, stargazing melodies and chugging space disco grooves (particularly those on the intoxicating "Aegis") are reminiscent of both producers' early work. It's already been pointed out that "Libra" shares an aesthetic with Terje's "Inspector Norse", while the quirky "Still Sertie" and mutant funk oddity "I Am Square" bear all the hallmarks of a Six Cups of Rebel B-side. Clearly, Bratten is a talent to watch.

Review: For the past 15 years, no other label has better represented Norway's distinctive dance music scene than Prins Thomas's Full Pupp imprint. Further proof arrives - not that any were needed - via a first celebratory label sampler containing four previously unreleased cuts. Fittingly, Norwegian house veteran Doc L Junior gets the party started via the ultra-percussive, Latin style drum workout "Metro (Part 1)", before long-serving label artist Blackbelt Anderson takes us on a trip through pitched-down dub disco weightiness ("Lort Og Fanteri"). Bjorn Torke offers up some more dubbed-out late night Norse disco voodoo via B-side opener "Ramma", while DJ Fett Birger delivers a typically weird, out-there slab of spacey deep house hedonism ("Blot Fis I Hvite Linbukser") to complete a stellar package.

Review: Prins Thomas' Full Pupp imprint turns 15 years old and has marked the occasion by inviting old and new friends to contribute a track each. It's definitely a local affair on the A side, with Mats Frantzvaag (Fuck Reality) serving up the glassy-eyed and bittersweet bliss of ''Soft', followed by Geir Hermansen aka Velferd who takes you on a neon-lit night drive on "Returning". On the flip, we have some seductive mood music courtesy of Jarle Brathen who presents 'Vaguely Wavey' with its hands-in-the-air piano power, and closing it out is boss man Prins Thomas' edit of Kalle Magnus & Daniel's low slung slo-mo disco groove 'Ny, Lang'.

Review: Full Pupp gets the Sex Tags bug Part Deux. After the triplet of "Bobletekno" reworks from Sex Tags icon DJ Sotofett last week, it's now the turn of his affiliates Fett Burger and Kambo Super Sound to rework tracks from last year's Prins Thomas long player. "Bobletekno" features prominently once again, with Kambo Super Sound opening with a heavy skanking disco dub version featuring all manner of melodica, distant delay and some mighty low end bass. Up next Fett Burger drops a self styled Taellekaell mix of "Flau Pappadans" which aligns to a more familiar Nordic chug but gets increasingly trippy as the run out groove draws closer. Pon de flip there's two further "Bobletekno" versions with Kambo Burger offering a non melodica dub kutt which is kind of overshadowed by the huge dripping mass of male energy that is the Plus One Remix.

Review: Since playing a starring role (often alongside old pal Hans-Peter Lindstrom) in the Norwegian space disco and Scandolearic movements of the mid 2000s, Prins Thomas has wandered off in all sorts of different directions, filling his first solo LP with Krautrock-inspired darkness. This second solo album displays some of the same influences (see the post punk bass and dark percussive builds of "Peppadans 1"), while moving back towards the sound with which he made his name. It's an interesting mix, all told, encompassing intense, paranoid moods ("Bobletekno (Permiks)"), sparse percussive workouts ("Bom Bom"), and shimmering Scandolearic builders (the how do you pronounce "Symfonisj Utviklingschemming"), all wrapped up in his trademark prog rock-influenced production.

Review: Over the course of the last decade, Prins Thomas's Full Pupp label has done more than any other to define the "Scandolearic" sound - a decidedly warm and glassy-eyed fusion of sounds that touches on Italo, space disco, krautrock, deep house, slow techno, ambient, new age and electronica. For proof, just check this superb two-disc celebration of the label's first ten years. Mixed live (with additional overdubs added later) by Thomas, it offers a deliciously woozy, evocative and entertaining journey. Made up of a mix of exclusives and overlooked back catalogue tracks, it brilliantly showcases not only the label's distinctive style, but also Norway's slowly expanding electronic disco scene. Naturally, it comes highly recommended.

Review: The cult and iconic Full Pupp label has been at the vanguard of the Scadi-sound for 15 years now. From indie licked to cosmic disco via melodic house and deep techno, the label has its own take on everything and this second anniversary marking EP is another rich gem. Telephones open with a humid jam that blurts genre-borders, Marius Vareid goes beautifully deep and late night on "Acidus" with its gently braking waves lit only by the moon, and Christian Engh pumps the party with his punchy and trippy "Schmoo". The boss himself Prins Thomas comes through with a disco house heater to close the party with style.
