Review: Commencing the new Italian imprint Frole in style, Danny Ward, better known as Dubble D, is presenting his Moodymanc alias in a convoluted artist mix up that needn't raise concerns about the quality of house music contained within. "ZZZ" is pared right down to a minimal hum, with just the bare essentials of drums at work while developed content thrums away at the core of the track for those that listen closely enough. Volta Cab brings a much bigger sound to the remix, slapping some chunky chords and choice bleeps over the top and beefing the drums up no end. "Akom" returns to more restrained tones, with plenty of space for vocal snippets to echo in and pristinely arranged drums, while "Inc" warms things up a treat with chord-infected smooth house tones and a much breezier outlook overall.

Review: Following up some great ones by The Mechanical Man, Fog and Detroit veteran Gari Romalis, label co-head Lello Di Franco aka L.D.F. serves up the next release on Naples-based Frole Records - the label he runs with Gastek. We certainly are glad that the music on The Unreleased Traxx finally saw the light of day. From the deep and sensual mood music of 'Inspiration' (Tribute mix), to the soulful Three Chairs influenced vibe of the lush 'Keep Ya Body Movin' and the stomping factory floor sub of 'Rude Boy' (Raw mix) on the flip side - this legend of the Neapolitan scene delivers a discerning collection of moods and grooves here. Review: Less than two weeks after his triumphant return to Omar-S's FXHE label, Norm Talley is back in action. This time round the Detroit veteran is making his first appearance on Frole, an Italian imprint that continues to deliver the deep house goods. Talley eases us in gently via "Blak Sandz", a sumptuous deep house shuffler that features seductive electric piano loops and spacey chords rising above a fluid, Latin-tinged rhythm track. "The Gambler", meanwhile, is a slightly tougher affair rich in chunky bass and drum machine cowbells, while B-side "Blak Bottom" is loopy, drowsy, hypnotic and spacey; exactly the sort of intoxicated deep house you want to hear at five in the morning while blinking into the darkness.
