Glad Its All Knight (7:11)
Laurenz Hillz (6:38)
Alexo Kneel (6:13)
Mr Green's Envy (7:20)
Review: Frazer Campbell turns his hand to a fair few different kinds of dancefloor material, but there's a consistent deep techno pulse that joins the dots between, for example, his appearance on Mosaic Records and this sample-laden drop on his own Counterfeit Soul. Gladys Knight's take on "I Heard It Through The Grapevine" gets refigured in the swirling, early morning cruiser "Glad Its All Knight." Lauryn Hill's classic "Doo Wop" gets sprinkled into a sprightly peak time tech house workout entitled "Laurenz Hillz," Alexander O'Neal's "Criticize" features in the sultry "Alexo Kneel" and airy closing cut "Mr Green's Envy" weaves a little Al Green magic into the mix.

Don't Leave Me Honey D (6:50)
My System (6:28)
No Drama (6:11)
Gazette (6:23)
Review: Frazer Campbell has been on a prolific run since first emerging in 2016, showcasing a keen instinct for sleek, refined deep house with a techy edge. This drop on Counterfeit Soul shows off the expressive expansive of Campbell's sound, leading in with the punchy "Don't Leave Me Honey D" and following it up with the fluttering melancholy of "My System". "No Drama" brings further Detroit influences to bear on Campbell's sturdy tech house beats, and then "Gazette" rounds the EP out with yet more accomplished machine soul musings. Immaculately produced and engineered for maximum club impact, this record looks set to get plenty of peak time floors strutting the good stuff this summer.

Frazer Campbell - "Cloud 909" (7:05)
Jorge Zamacona - "Doom Dub" (5:38)
Jorge Caiado - "Drifting With Aliens" (6:44)
Ste Roberts - "Last Saturday Day!" (7:00)
Review: Just four releases into its life, London imprint Counterfeit Soul has managed to draft in some serious pedigree for this one, with bossman Frazer Campbell leading the charge via the gloriously heady heights of 'Cloud 909'. Shades of soulful Detroit more than a little audible, it's a warm and uplifting opening number. Logically, given its name, 'Doom Dub' from Jorge Zamacona is a stark contrast in terms of vibe. Less delicate, much more direct and relentless- barely letting up- it's an ever-growing and more than likely ever-green slice of what deep techiness should sound like from the legendary producer. Those looking for more of a Windy City tip can find plenty of Chicago influences on Jorge Caiado's 'Drifting With Aliens', while Ste Roberts goes raw, unpolished and compulsively danceable for 'Last Saturday Day!'
