Review: Dream pop hasn't gone to sleep and Virginian group Wild Nothing, spearheaded by John Alexander Tatum, delivers its fourth album since 2010. For the uninitiated; think The Vampire Weekend meets Cut Copy meets bites of 90s nostalgia, balearic and new age. It's a whimsical journey from start to finish with the chorus of "Flawed Translation" crestfully singing 'let's stay together baby, let's stay together" while album opener "Letting Go" chirps 'I wanna be happy, I wanna be happy'. Review: Atmossy avant-pop artiste Wild Nothing (Jack Tatum) presents his next album, Hold, in the immediate aftermath of new parenthood during the pandemic. The latest incarnation of Tatum's style is wistful and longing, yet also driving, centring on the downtempo pop engines of 'Headlights On' or 'Suburban Solutions', both of which are shining examples of an increased danceability, and an autodidactic DIY production approach, born of gutsy necessity during tough times.
