Tin Of Worms
Westway
Review: Autoreply do the record buying public a favour and give Baby Ford's Tin Of Worms 12" another repress, this time on yellow wax. Baby Ford has been making electronic music since the late 1980s and is regarded by most as one of the key players in the nascent UK acid house scene. His entry into the Autoreply stable is a classy, versatile two tracker. The title track showcases crisp, tight linear drum programming - with ribcage shaking sub bass and supernatural synths which undulate over its eight minute cycle, displaying the original principles of minimal techno alongside forward thinking sound design. On the flip you'll find "Westway", originally recorded on Ford's now defunct hardware set up and mastered from DAT. This track conjours images of smoky late night jazz clubs with its smooth piano chords and strings that seem to float in an out of the mix- set starter, nightclub techno lesson, afterparty showpiece; the choice is yours...

Review: After a quiet 2016 thus far Och's Autoreply label is finally back in action with a frankly fantastic selection of workouts from Mark Broom. In keeping with the style Broom has been exercising in new Perbec jams with Baby Ford, this is more restrained than the muscular techno Broom can also be known for. Instead, you get expressive, satisfying house tracks such as "18.2" and the neatly pumping "10" with its killer array of synths to satisfy the dancefloor and the mind in equal measure. Avoiding unnecessary fireworks in favour of perfectly chosen and shaped elements, this is a glittering demonstration of Broom's cool-headed approach in the studio.

The Fugitive
Fly By Night
Review: London imprint Autoreply celebrates its 10th release with an incredibly solid 12" from Dan Curtin, the techno don responsible for the label's first ever release. His Lifeblood album on Mobilee was one of the more underrated long players released in 2010, and here he marks the start of a new year with two very special tracks. Head straight for "The Fugitive", a peak time party bomb featuring deeply effective synth stabs over a powerful techno backdrop finished with a soulful sprinkling of female vocals. There are simply not enough tracks like this doing the rounds at present - one other that springs to mind is the cheeky Power House 12" that Hardwax fans will have noted with glee in late 2010. Flip over for "Fly By Night", an impressive blend of old and new in which Curtin utilises soaring 303s, reverb-soaked piano chords and a rib shaking sub bass. Stripped back techno at its finest.

Centrality
Spirits
Review: Following his Studio 395 EP supported by Zip, Oliver Deutschmann, Baby Ford, Rolando & Ben Sims to name a few, Ed returns with another satisfying 2 tracker. Centrality is a strong, peak time techno track that features raw 909 percussion paired with an infectious synth riff & haunting house vocals finishing on a Transmat style synth solo, the kind of track that stays in your head for hours if not days after you've left the nightclub. B side Spirits incorporates the same distinguished groove of Centrality but opens the possibilities up tenfold, inviting plays on both house & techno dance floors equally suited to night & day!

Review: London's Jug debut's for Autoreply with one of the most versatile 4 trackers around. From the deep dark Mug 2 a collaboration with his old friend Mark Henning of Freude Am Tanzen & more recently Soma fame to the deeply unique spooky vocal of The Difficult Word ending up on Hip Flask a mean after party anthem. Bart & Anton's usual no nonsense District One mix takes things to the next level on the AA1. Support from Mark Broom, Shinedoe, 2000 & One, Polder, Joris Voorn, Mathias Kaden, Someone Else, Ed Davenport, Confetti Bomb, Jay Shepheard, Dario Zenker, Chris Fortier, Mark Henning & many more....

Hate Internet (Claro Intelecto remix)
Review: Autoreply Music marks the coming of the summer season with a very tidy little 10" from OCH. This man recently recorded for Baby Ford's PAL SL imprint, gaining support from a diverse range of DJing luminaries including ZIP, Sammy Dee and Efdemin. Now the mysterious producer steps up with a big room floor rocker that has been described as Ian Pooley's "Chord Memory" meets Christian Vogel. Thunderous drums, hypnotizing chords and a cheeky sample that the old house heads will be sure to recognise make this one for the peak time. Claro Intelecto's Warehouse Sessions on Modern Love is regarded by many as one of the most definitive collections of contemporary techno to hit the shelves in recent years. Fresh back from remixing Depeche Mode he takes time out of his busy schedule for remix duties. Taking his cues from the warehouse classics that accompanied him through years in Manchester's revered clubs like the Hacienda, Home and Paradise Factory, he serves up a powerful, stripped down reworking of the original track that is equally suited to sweaty dance floors. Fasten your seatbelts.

Och - "Deltic"
Och - "Freeze Thaw"
The Model - "Dungeon Man"
The Model - "Stancuto"
Review: Four deadly cuts of timeless, jackin' house and deep techno professionalism. OCH returns to his Autoreply home with a new series of split 12"s inviting a diverse group of producers to share a slab of wax. For the A Side he opens with "Deltic" which sets the mood with tough yet soulful Chicago vibes. OCH's second contribution is "Freeze-Thaw" showcasing a deep, hypnotic groove alongside powerful sub-bass, lush female vox with dreamy analogue pads that bridge the gap between artistic creativity and memorable club versatility. On the flip side it's Romanian all-rounder, The Model, who has previously graced premium labels such as Traum Schallplatten and International DJ Gigolo. Here he delivers two ultra-phat workouts in the form of "Dungeon Man", an infectious chord driven floor-burner and "Stancuto" a stripped back, percussive take on the same theme demonstrating his emerging new warehouse sound with just the slightest salute to Echocord or Dehnert.

Long John
Review: Perbec is Mark Broom and Baby Ford. Their last vinyl outing was "Variety Club" for the seminal Ifach imprint in 2001. Here they return with "Chaser" an epic journey into the original principles of house music. Infectious bass, Chicago-style keys and deep, analog synth pads announce that the party is very much in full force. Flip the disc for "Long John" which features stripped rhythms with plenty of swing and energy - equally suited to the main room or afterhours. Mastered at D & M.

Autoreply After Hours Edition - Blue EP (Pier Bucci remix)

Blue (original mix)
Blue (Pier Bucci remix)
Review: Autoreplys aptly named After Hours edition sees Ben Rourke subtly create a sonic landscape in which every note matters, and reminds us that techno can indeed be a deeply emotional form of music. This is the kind of EP you wish would magically start playing during the taxi ride home from Berghain or some other temple of techno; its music to soundtrack personal reflection; deeply introspective and atmospheric. Blue features shuffling synths bouncing off delicate keys and deep scrapes that appear unannounced alongside ethereal vocal snippets.Pier Buccis remix utilises the title tracks subtle instrumentation and takes it up a notch. Its beautifully constructed and textured – just as we have come to expect from the Chilean producer – with the trademark hint of South American flavour. The three-track EP is rounded off with Rourkes Squareb, which is possibly even more introspective and thought-provoking than Blue.
