Deep House
  1. All Right (6:18)
  2. All Right (Parris Mitchell remix) (5:09)
  3. All Right (Kai Alce NDATL dub) (5:32)
  4. All Right (John Barera & Will Martin remix) (6:53)
Review: Georgia native Chris Powers is said to have honed his skills in Chicago via "the foggy clubs of London". He is back on his home turf these days with a residency at Atlanta's Hunger club night and his own Cape Fear gig in Savannah. Appearing here for NYC upstarts Alliance Upholstery, Powers delivers the rather impressive "All Right", a dusty and looped up house affair with sampled disco aesthetics adding to its allure. It gets a bunch of stellar remixes too, courtesy of Chicago legend Parris Mitchell who injects some added funk and sleazy disco aesthetic for added measure. On the flip, one of the true masters of deepness himself Kai Alce delivers another life affirming "NDATL Dub" which is always worthy of your attention until John Barrera & Will Martin deliver their absolutely electric rendition of the funky disco house persuasion.

Disco/Nu-Disco
  1. Hibiscus Pacific (remaster)
  2. Hibiscus Pacific (Sorcerer's "Whisper" mix)
  3. Hibiscus Pacific (Jaques Renault remix)
  4. Hibiscus Pacific (Moon B remix)
Review: Beautiful beach music from Green Linez 2012 album Things That Fade, everything about "Hibiscus Pacific" sparkles and ripples with Balearic sonic majesty. Remix-wise Sorcerer adds a slightly heavier beat and a spell-binding series of arpeggios, Jaques Renault takes us deeper into the dance with a cool sense of techno infectiousness by way of nagging hi-hats and spooked out stretches and Moon B kicks it old school with a New Atlantic style 808 jam that fits the original synth lines like a well-tailored suit. Highly limited, this is not to be missed!

Dancer On The Shore

Disco/Nu-Disco
  1. Dancer On The Shore (extended mix) (6:41)
  2. Dancer On The Shore (Jex Opolis dub) (6:10)
  3. Dancer On The Shore (Justin Strauss & Bryan Mette Whatever/Whatever remix) (8:35)
  4. Dancer On The Shore (Jex Opolis remix) (5:49)
Review: Since first gate crashing our consciousness back in 2009, New York three-piece Lemonade has released a string of fine records, most of which saunter between woozy Balearic synth-pop and leisurely downtempo grooves. "Dancer on the Shore", their first release for three years, inhabits similar sonic territory, offering a fusion of Peaking Lights style dubbed-out synth-pop grooves, glassy-eyed vocals, tumbling acoustic guitar flourishes and humid steel drum melodies. Fellow NYC resident Jex Opolis provides two stellar remixes: a chunky, rolling, acid-flecked nu-disco dub and a drowsier vocal interpretation that's as ear pleasing as they come. The other interpretation comes from Justin Strauss and Bryan Mette under the Whatever/Whatever alias and strays further towards acid-driven Italo-disco/deep house fusion territory.

Cat: AU 002. Rel: 07 Sep 15
Disco/Nu-Disco
  1. Talking God (original) (4:52)
  2. Talking God (Eddie C remix) (8:38)
  3. Talking God (Alex Israel Took Too Long remix) (7:30)
  4. Talking God (Benedek remix) (4:06)
Review: Stunning new Balearica business from Swedish synth seducer Sasac; bubbling and deliciously slow and low tempo, the big synth washes shimmer over a subtle but sedate bassline. The three remixes are tailored to suit all shades of your soiree; Eddie C ups the tempo and doubles the length while maintaining the twinkle factor with relentless arpeggios. Alex Israel subverts proceedings with mischievous acid wriggles and a loose, latent funk around the beats. Benedek, meanwhile, takes us on a G-soul trip through the finest shades of 80s with the ultimate seduction version. Godly.
