Review: Beijing based Leele, Tokyo based S.O.N and Detroit transplant Camille has come together to give you something soothing from Adeen records. Their debut live studio album A Band Of Brothers is a nice warm welcome from the label that's known for house and techno. The late 70's early 80's Japanese fusion jazz influenced offering is split into two discs with one being all jazz, and disc two being remixed into breezy house tracks. Rather is an easy chilled out vibe or a night on the dancefloor, A Band Of Brother got you covered for all occasions.

Carino (4:43)

Review: Adeen Records comes with its series of funk, soul, disco and jazz only edits label called The Bird. And it's first releases comes from label head Camille and Spanish graffiti artist and dj Cad73, and edited by DJ Boring. These two 7" gems came from each selectors childhood memories from living in Detroit and Barcelona respectively. While Camille draws such tunes as "Stop Bajon and Carino" from influences Detroit, Cad73 pulls "Shakedown and The Vulture" from early radio and parties growing up around Barcelona. Already a staple series amongst Adeen's catalog, This "The Bird" series may be the label we've been craving.

Review: REPRESS ALERT!: Here's something special from the rapidly swelling Adeen label. Always bringing something a little different to the house and disco edit game, this time they've reached out to the legendary Chez Damier to team up with label boss Camille and Italian producer Nico Lahs in assembling a compilation of on point edits that will have any keen digger in a frenzy. Across two slabs of wax we get respectfully touched up versions spanning a range of styles. There's powerful singalong soul stirrers like Janice McClain's 'Giving My Love', nasty low down groovers like Love Cild's Afro Cuban Blues Band's 'SpanDisco', and lots more besides. If you need some deep cover heaters with girth in all the right places, look no further.

Review: The superb Make Up series hits release number three and in doing so heads back to the trio that started it all. The combination of Chicago house originator Chez Damier, Adeen label head Camille and Italian talent Nico Lahs is a dream team indeed and they serve up some crucial edits that cover a wide sonic range. There are standout cuts on the first 12" such as 'Dance to Freedom' and 'African Bump' while jazzy grooves define 'Sunny' and 'Changes' is all about getting that dance floor vibing. This is another in-the-know musical voyage from this crew that more that deserves a spot on your shelves.

It Ain't Right (DG Reel Need 2 edit) (7:02)
Review: Back in 2014, Chez Damier dropped two mixes of 'Speechless' on Popcorn Records, paying tribute to fabled Parisian nightspot Rex Club in the process. Now the Prescription legend brings the cut back to life for Adeen, and there's a whole cast of other big hitters involved as well this time. First up, Nicholas remixes 'Speechless' and goes in heavy on a Rhodes hook, while Damier himself doffs his cap to Berlin's house mecca on the fluttering, guitar-laced 'Panorama Bar mix'. Camille Migas creates something limber, expressive and sparkling for more reflective moments. On the flip, more high-grade remixes from Jef K and DG complete the package for some of the finest house music money can buy.

Do It (6:24)

Beat Of Life (8:35)
Love You More (Mr G's Endlessly In Love dub) (7:40)
Review: Amsterdam's Makez bring their old school unfused house sounds to Adeen Records in collaboration with Balance Alliance on this fresh new 12" which also features a remix from UK mainstay Mr G. 'Do It' brings super smooth chords and a prickly deep house beat that will get any floor going. Then comes 'Close 2 Us' which is even better - lush and lazy chords are draped over pent-up deep house dynamics with gorgeous vocal coos and jazzy keys also bring extra heart and heat to the mix. 'Beat Of Life' is a more busy percussive sound and then comes 'Love You More' as remixed by the don Mr G who brings his signature smokiness and basement house vibes.

Sirius City (5:03)
UFO (4:38)
Call Me, Acid (6:12)
Stars (4:03)
Review: Following on from last year's impressive Redlight debut, Scott Hess is back on his Adeen label with another selection of warm and inventive house cuts splashed with colour and analogue wobbles precision-engineered to catch your ear. Lead track 'Sirius City' leans on a harmonically rich lead line and plenty of off-kilter wriggles to appeal to those who want some cheekiness in their tunes. 'UFO' sports a tasteful acid tweak running in between plush pads and snappy drums, while 'Call Me, Acid' plays around with telephone tropes to make a bleepy jam that will have the ID requests flying in. 'Stars' offers something sweeter to complete the set, spacing out the beats to leave the synths plenty of room to cavort around a celestial name-checking session for deep house dreamers.

Circle Of Funk
The Rhythm
Review: The pleasingly unpredictable Adeen label returns with another record of outstanding and distinctive quality. Scott Hess is an emergent talent, originally from Detroit but now based in Bangkok, who channels the heat and clamour of the Thai capital. The result is a funkified strain of house with rich synths and some satisfyingly organic licks. "Redlight" is the heavy lifter, all muscular bass synths and a nagging, twitchy groove, while "Circle Of Funk" brings a more introspective tone embellished by some gorgeous slap bass. "The Rhythm" pushes a more steamy kind of funk that nods to the Detroit house grandmasters.

Review: Looooooongish Cat and Davecoin have come together for their debut album Realizer on Adeen. It is a record that swings from the dark and mysterious to the more upbeat and playful as it explores a range of techno styles. The material originates from the pair's live set so has a real dynamism to it as well as it moves through ever-evolving psychedelic soundscapes. Vocals, synth lines, and guitars have all been laid down on tape and then resampled and deconstructed to "create an analog patchwork which floats over the hard-hitting beats and fat analog synths and bass lines." It's an immersive and inventive record that also has a fresh cover design.

Review: Detroit house legend Alton Miller first dropped "More Positive Things" back in 2016, led by the soaring vocal from Nikki O and backed up with a remix from DJ Spinna. Adeen love the already sought-after record so much they've dived right back into it with an expanded set of remixes and versions. As well as Miller's original deep house gem and Spinna's heavy funking "Positive Spin" take, there's now the added slow-rolling delights of Fishdoll's "Out-and-Out" remix. On the flip, all three versions appear in their instrumental form for those who wish to swerve the vocal for any reason.

Review: Bari meets Detroit on these superb remixes on offer here of Alton Miller & Amp Fiddler's 2010 anthem 'When The Morning Comes'. On the A side, Rydm Sectors deliver a rolling stomper of a rendition that still retains the deepness of the original, followed by the ever reliable Nico Lahs who serves up a dusty, KDJ influenced perspective and proceeds to rework 'Ever Wonder' over on the flipside side in emotive late night fashion. As does local duo KETAMA (Cosmic Rhythm) who hand in a soulful Afro house inspired remix.

Review: It's been a while since we last heard from Nico Lahs, the accomplished Italian house producer with drops on Rawax, Ovum, Poker Flat and many more in his back catalogue. Now he's shoring up on US label Adeen with a double pack of seriously bumping, soulful joints that point to a hefty amount of work refining and defining his sound. The drums skip and skitter with a gorgeous, live looseness, while the plush Rhodes and synth lines drip with full-fat warmth and funk. This is a deep rooted sound that will have fans of 2000Black, Mark de Clive-Lowe and Warren Harris all nodding in satisfaction.

He has lent his tender tones to more classic tracks than you could possibly mention and he continues to do so nowadays with a wholeness generation of producer who want a touch go his authenticity. He has recently achieved another career milestone with a superbly poignant new single that comes with sublime remixes. Review: Not many people remember Lee Scratch Perry's foray into electronic music on the 1997 CD-only release "Technomajikal". It's a distinct diversion for the dub master from his more roots-minded experimentation, but still loaded with the same irreverent mischief and sonic acrobatics you'd expect from the Black Ark pioneer. Adeen have picked up on the quality elements hidden away in the album and given them a fresh airing, with some choice remixes to boot. Camille delivers a plentiful spread of versions, from the hypnotic incantations of her take on "Maxi Merlin" to the Latin heat of her version of "LSD UnitCorn". DJ Boring gets a little more technical on his remix of "Technologically", chopping up the samples and strapping them to a thumping house beat. It's as wild and mixed an end result as is fitting for a maverick like Lee Scratch Perry, the man promising to ride on his "unitcorn".

Slick Nickle Pladium Investment (4:19)
Review: Adeen Records is on a roll right now and this time out they welcome the Detroit hero that is Marcellus Pittman for a new and beguiling four-track 12". Known for his work with The 3 Chairs collective as well as his solo jams, this Motor City mainstay opens up with 'You Always Hank Bank One Time' which is a real mental maze of rickety loops and blurts of degraded synth. 'Another Spring Lover' is another rusty and lo-fi piece of archetypal Detroit house that is very clearly machine music but with a unique sense of human soul. 'I'm Gonna Be The Everything' is a raw drum track with sparse, heartwarming chords and 'Slick Nickle Pladium Investment' is a knackered downbeat hip-hop closer. Magnificent.

You Have Time (Kai Alce NDATL interpretation) (6:39)
Review: REPRESS ALERT: Adeen continues to chat an intriguing path through dance music that nods to past masters as much as the new breed, this time celebrating the styles of Italo maestro Alexander Robotnick. The EP of new material kicks off with "I Love My House", a bouncy acid burner built for prime time good times, before launching straight into the more stripped back tension of "You Have Time". "Made In China" has a more vintage feel to it, harking back to the early days of Robotnick's career in killer Italo style. On the flip we're treated to some seriously on point remixes - one from Camille and one from Kai Alce, who both deliver superlative contemporary funk ups of the original.

Review: DJ SizleCaude is the head of the Herbal Soundz label and this is his first EP. It's one steeped in classic house knowledge and Chicago-referencing sounds. That is particularly true on 'About Time' with its spoken word sermon over dusty old drum sounds and hefty deep house drums. 'Kindly Listen' cuts it up with razor-sharp hi-hats and swirling pads that sound like a church organ in meltdown. Last of all is 'Ntho Tse', a swirling cosmic cut that takes you on a voyage through lush synth work and heartwarming pads before settling on a nice jazzy vibe.

Review: Berlin-based Voodoocuts knows how to mix up floor-filing sounds from across a range of genres and eras. Now the sonic shapeshifter serves up a first EP for Adeen that packs in five killer cuts. 'La Culebra' kicks off with big horns and Latin rhythms which carry on through the dance-heavy 'Mi Amor'. 'B-boy Paco' completes the first side of vinyl with lively rhythms, horn stabs and florid Spanish vocals. 'Que Rico' kicks off on the flip with another dense arrangement packed with cowbells, funky bass riffs, woodblock hits, shakers and plenty more. 'Linda Negra' is a sleazy yet seductive samba shuffle that brings the heat and will get any party heated up.
