Review: After nearly a decade of studio silence, D&B don Andy C has been making serious waves with his remixes in the last year or so. Finally he gets round to unleashing two of his own solo joints. Naturally, they both kill it. "Haunting" is the heavy-hitter with brash bass textures and crisp, hench-inducing arpeggio. "Workout" is a much funkier jam with cool horn stabs on the fills and a belching bassline that stabs and smirks throughout. It's clear he's not lost his studio touch, the Ram boss is well and truly back in the building!

Review: The start of what many fans are hoping will eventually be an album later this year, Andy C let rip into 2016 with a brand new jump-up party track that smacks of "Twist 'Em Out" era jump up mischief (before things got a little too silly on that side of the genre). Now finally enjoying a vinyl outing, its ballsy sub matches the spiky riff with a dynamic that was seemingly written with wax in mind. The VIP is an interesting approach too; rather than being wilder than the original, it's actually deeper and more heads-down. Classic Andy C subversion... Let's hope it does build to an album.

Hive's "Neo" originally featured on the debut Nightlife mix 10 years ago. Now back with a pressure cooker rub from Audio, it still kills to this day. June Miller & Nymfo provide a haunted house vibe complete with paranoid guitars and gravel gut bass while Unknown Error reps D&B's soulful side with the gorgeous piano-thumping "Rising". Xtrah completes this part with another impeccable body-slammer. All rim shots and droning subs, this one's designed for the darkest hours.

Review: Audio on Ram... What a partnership! Bringing his Virus-primed sounds to drum & bass's mega label, not only does Audio get to rep his brutally beautiful technique to the widest possible audience, but he adds serious kudos to the broad remit of Andy C's imprint. "Heads Up" is an aggro stomper that pummels your floor into submission with an itchy scratchy midrange bass riff. "Stampede", meanwhile, is just pure insanity. All hype whoops and twisted textures over a bass that hoovers so caustically it can burn your lugholes, it's clear that Audio's new label deal hasn't required any compromise.

Review: Ram's heavily tatted neuro-monster Audio lays down two more muscular tech-shredders for the more rapacious dancefloors. "Shatterdome" mischievously provokes the EDM psyche with a cheery synth line before hurling you into a sea of sandpaper sonic filth. "2 Stroke" reminds us of Audio's funkier side as a scattergun bassline flickers off-and-on the kicks with trippy effect. Rumour has it he's going to drop his fifth album pretty soon... His first since signing to Ram, we can't wait to hear it.

Review: Busta Rhymes has Flipmode, but Audio has Beastmode! After a slew of heavyweight albums on Virus, Audio is returning to the format with Beastmode forthcoming on the mighty RAM with this 12" sampler the first of many tasters. "Overdose" sets a high marker for the album, finding Audio returning with a brutish, rolling bassline, diced up with gritty drum loops and underpinned by quaking subs. Face down and Audio's signature RAM cut "Ultron" is given the Mefjus treatment, resulting in the sort of techy soundscape the Austrian producer reigns over. Mefjus moulds the original around the unfaltering guns of his peddled drums and wavering bassline.

Review: They don't call him a beast for nothing... Audio is one of the sharpest, most uncompromising engineers in D&B and has been since his Resonant Evil days. Ram's ace of spades, signing to the biggest label in D&B hasn't stopped him from pushing neuro and tech to its bitter, broken glass edge (and, often, beyond) As proved by his fifth album Beastmode. From the broken-brake speedway challenge hurtling dangerously out of control ("Creatures") to the absolute hell-raising detuned stabs and turbo engine reeses of "Thunder Ridge", this is Audio at his hardest, sharpest and furthest ahead of the curve.

Review: The first installment of the Ramlife series, impeccably mixed by Loadstar, was arguably one of the strongest drum and bass sets of 2014. It's perhaps for this reason that Ram has entrusted the follow-up to the more than capable Audio, himself a relatively recent signing to the imprint. Happily, he doesn't disappoint, mixing a selection that tends towards the dark, aggressive and pounding, with clandestine textures and rumbling basslines rubbing shoulders with snappy jungle breaks and tech-tinged electronics.
