Notes: Channel extender for MIXCONSOLE.

This module extends the MIXCONSOLE module with three additional channels; the channel level can be controlled via CV here, too. If no CV is attached, the level knob works as usual volume control.

Notes: The MIXCONSOLE JACKOUT is an extension for the MIXCONSOLE with 1/4" (6.5mm) jack sockets for master left/right output and for the FX send and returns - all via mono sockets (unbalanced). This avoids the need for separate adapter cables.

The module is connected via a small internal connection cable to the right of the MIXCONSOLE or as neighbour of the MIXCONSOLE XLROUT module.

Notes: The NYLE FILTER is an adaption of the Steiner Filter for the AE modular palette. It contains the classic filter curves lowpass/highpass/bandpass with adjustable filter frequency and resonance. The unique feature of this filter type is, that there are separate inputs for lowpass/highpass/bandpass (not separate outputs as with other filters). This allows quite unusual sounds, if different signals are fed into the different inputs.

Each input has its own attenuator; for frequency CV control there are two inputs with individual attenuators. Additionally, the resonance can also be CV controlled!

The sound goes from quite soft filtering with low resonance setting to a quite intense resonance peak to full self-resonance.

Notes: The 3:1 Mixer has two section of 3 inputs to a single output. Each input will be mixed at 1/3 of the level of the input. Each section has an LED indicator indicating activity on the output. Section 1 is normalled to section 2 so it can easily behave as a 6:1 mixer as well.

Notes: An exact hardware replica of the Mutable Instruments Ears, which is based on the Music Thing Modular's Mikrophonie.

The ridges on the panel are less defined than on the Mutable version, so the texture is a bit more subtle.

Mixer section

Each channel has the following:

Stereo or mono - Each channel can be treated as a stereo channel or a mono channel with two summed inputs.

CV inputs for both panning and level control

Two send buses - You can route each channel to one of two send buses. Each send bus is stereo. You can choose if you want the send to come before or after the level/panning controls.

Mute - The mute has both latching mute (up) and a momentary mute (down). The mute uses a capacitor to slow the turn off and on of the mute action. So it is mostly click-less, but you may find an occasional pop.

Cue bus - You can route each channel to the cue bus.

Mains Section

Two stereo sends outputs
Two stereo returns - which can also be used to directly insert into the main mix.
Main stereo outputs - level controlled with the slider and stereo VU meter.
Main mono output - summed output of the main L&R. If you are after an 8ch mono mix, you can use each channel in stereo mode, use the level control to control the level and then pan control to control the levels of the two channels.

Cue Section

1/4" Headphone jack along with level control
Fader control to listen to the main mix, cue mix, or an adjustable mix of the two.
Expandable

Bartenders can be cascaded to create 8ch, 12ch, or 16ch mixer. The main level is what is sent the main level control can act as a group control.

Barbacks can be added to add 2ch to your mix. Barbacks can also be cascaded enabling up to a 16ch mixer configuration.

Send-VCA can be added for CV control of the level of the send.

DVCA, Cast Iron, Mingles, and USB-2CH can all be connected with Dupont cables (aka female to female breadboard cables) via pin headers on the back of the modules. Connecting the in and out pins will send/receive the audio into the next module.

Notes: Third-party clone of the open-source Mutable Instruments Plaits oscillator/sound source. All the same functionality in a compact 8hp format with full-size knobs for the key functions.

Supplier's Notes:
Functionally identical clone of the Mutable Instruments Plaits. Beehive strikes a nice balance between size, reducing 12hp down to 8hp, and playability by offering full size knobs for the four main functions. Beehive also retains the same depth of the original module at 25mm. This module uses After Later's new aluminum knobs which have a nice non-slip texture and allow for more finger space over the standard 1900H Davies knobs.

Notes: Cara (uMarbles)

This is a new build of a micro version of Mutable Instruments Marbles. It retains all the functionality of the original full-sized module but takes up less space. It comes with jack lights that can be disabled via a jumper on the back.

These modules use tall bushing potentiometers to offer a more stable feel. You can see the difference in the last picture. You will feel much less wiggle with the tall bushing (left) than with traditional trimmer style (right).

The module is fully assembled, tested, and calibrated. The calibration is done with a 6.5 digit multimeter, itself recently calibrated, to ensure you get the highest accuracy from your module. Eurorack power cable included.

Notes: An interface for the case 1/4" jacks in Intelljel cases. The jacks are marked as if they are part of the case, so the jacks marked out, require an input.

The module sports both input and output for either a consumer line level (0.447Vpk) or a professional line level (1.095Vpk). These levels are controllable via jumper on the back of the module. It can also have a single input and output channel switched to pedal level. The case output is fed to the headphone amp that has a corresponding level control. The module otherwise does not have any level control and relies on using a VCA or other module to perform any level controls.

The module can essentially be run in one of three modes:

1) Stereo line level in and out

2) Stereo line level in and out via the left side and mono pedal in and out on the right side. In this mode the stereo line levels leverage TRS on the 1/4" jacks. You can use the included 3.5mm couplers to get TRS on the 3.5mm side.

3) Mono line level in and out via the left side and mono pedal in and out on the right side.

For Palette 64hp users only have two 1/4" jacks. You can choose if you want to use the case jacks as either inputs, outputs, or one input and one output.

Notes: DVCA

DVCA is a dual VCA based on the Mutable Instruments Veils. It features two separate voltage-controlled amplifiers, both with a gain and a response curve potentiometer, that is variable from linear to exponential. The outputs are normalized, so when no patch cable is present on output 1, output 2 will contain both signals, allowing the module to be used as a mixer. Several DVCAs can be daisy-chained for voltage-controlled mixer operation. It comes with jack lights that can be disabled via a jumper on the back.

These modules use tall bushing potentiometers to offer a more stable feel.

The module is fully assembled and tested. Eurorack power cable included.

Notes: Enigma Expander for micro Turing Machine (Alan)

An expander for After Later's Alan module (a smaller version of the Turing Machine) that enables you to manipulate the stepped CV sequence. This enables you to create a different, yet related sequence to the main Alan output.

The module comes with the required cable to connect to the main module. Our black and gold panel is designed to complement Alan, Aftter Later's micro version of the Turing Machine.

The module comes with a 1 year warranty.

Notes: A full size version of Mutable Instruments Warps. It is functionally identical and will run all firmware that ran on the original.

Mixer section

Channel 1 and Channel 2 are three channel mixers with potentiometers to control level of three different inputs for each channel. Each channel then has a potentiometer to control panning as well as CV control for panning and level control

Panning and VCA

The VC panners are equal loudness panning and the VCAs for each channel are linear response.

Built-in LFO

There is a built-in LFO that is normalled to the panning CV input of each channel. CH1 gets the standard LFO and CH2 gets an inverse, enabling alternating channel panning. The default is to use a TRI wave for the LFO, but there is a jumper on the back to switch it to SQU.

Notes: This is a new build of a Monsoon, which is a variation of Mutable Instruments Clouds with separate CV and controls for the 4 "blend" functions. The 4 LEDs on the sliders indicate incoming control voltage for the 4 main parameters. The button which was used to select blend parameters now simply switches what the 4 LEDs display (audio input monitoring or monitoring the 4 blend amounts.) Parasites 2.01 firmware is loaded by default. Alternative firmware can be loaded by request.

Notes: Morcom Expander for micro Turing Machine (Alan)

An expander for After Later's Alan module (a smaller version of the Turing Machine) that exposes the pulse outputs from the main Alan module. You get 7 seven random outputs and then 4 that are derived from other 7 outputs. When 1 and 2 are high then the 1+2 outputs is high. You can get some great rhythmic effects using these in conjunction with the main stepped CV output.

The module comes with the required cable to connect to the main module. The panel is designed to compliment Alan, After Later's micro version of the Turing Machine.

The module comes with a 1 year warranty.

Notes: Mult 1U Intellijel Format

This is a buffered/active mult with LED indicator. You get two channels of 1 to 3 multiples within a 2HP module. The output of channel 1 is normalled to channel 2 so it can also be treated as a 1 to 6 multiple as well.

Active vs Passive mults:

With a passive mult you are effectively just plugging multiple things into the same jacks. This will often cause some voltage drop in each of the signals. With an active (or buffered) mult you will not get any voltage drop from the original signal.

This is a new build of a micro version of Rings from Mutable Instruments. MicroRings, also called NanoRings, retains all the same functionality as a full-size Rings module.

Notes: This is a brand new build of a JakPlugg designed Pachinko, which is a micro version of Mutable Instruments Marbles. It retains all of the functionality of the original but takes up less space (12HP) than the original Marbles (18HP).

The module is fully assembled, tested, and calibrated. The calibration is done with a 6.5 digit multimeter, itself recently calibrated, to ensure you get the highest accuracy from your module.

Notes: Popple is an 8hp multimode stereo filter based on the Mutable Instruments Ripples V1 filter section. Popple maintains the buttery smoothness of Ripples filter while giving you two separate audio paths. The audio paths share a resonance, control, a frequency cutoff control, resonance CV input, and a v/oct cutoff CV input. Each channel then has it’s own cutoff CV input with attenuverters (which are normalled to a 2.5V signal).

Popple will also self-oscillate at high resonance settings, when coupled with the v/oct CV control, it can also act as a dual sine wave oscillator.

Notes: A clever hybrid of quad VCA, function generator and more in this chunky module. Four channels of oscillators, envelope generators and VCAs, plus slew, voltage sources and plenty of CV control.

Four channels of function generator, oscillator, slew limiter, envelope, and VCAs. This module brings the ultimate in flexibility as it can be used as a standalone synth voice, a massive amount of modulation, or a four channel envelope generator w/ mixer. We believe this makes QARV a great first module and a great addition to the largest of systems.

All four channels have the following features:

Notes: SHTH - Sample and Hold - Track and Hold

Create stepped outputs using two different classic synthesis techniques, sample & hold and/or track & hold.

Sample & Hold

The top four jacks make up the sample and hold section. There is a noise output that is normalled to the input so you can pass a gate/trig signal into the SAMP input to get a stepped output at the OUT jack.

IN - Signal that will be sampled, normalled to NSE output
SAMP - When high updates the voltage being sent to the output
NSE - White noise output
OUT - The sampled output (freezes the value from the IN jack when the SAMP jack receives a high signal)
Track & Hold

The bottom four jacks make up the track and hold section. There is a walk signal (a randomish meandering voltage) that is normalled to the input. Track and hold is the opposite of sample and hold in that it will pass the IN value to the OUT jack until the TRACK input receives a high gate. While the TRACK input is high it will hold the value. After the TRACK input goes low, it will begin tracking the IN signal again.

Notes: This is where Storm and Monsoon meet to create the latest improvements on the original Clouds design. With Typhoon you get all of the features of Storm combined with sliders and layout of Monsoon in 16hp. Typhoon runs the SuperParasites firmware, so no more having to swap between Parasites and Kammerl firmware options. Some of the notable features are:

Notes: An 8hp version of the retired Mutable Instruments Grids. It is an identical functional clone, so it will behave in the same was as the full size version, and will run any firmware that runs on the full size version.

Notes: Ornament & Crime for 1U Intellijel format

This is functionally identical to the 3U version, just re-oriented to fit in 1U racks. Ornament & Crime is designed by mxmxmx.

The apps currently available in Ornament & Crime:

CopierMaschine is an enhanced version of the original quantising digital emulation of a four stage analogue shift register (ASR).

Harrington 1200 provides basic neo-Riemannian Tonnetz transformations of triadic chords, triggered by the digital (gate/trigger) inputs.

Automatonnetz combines Tonnetz transforms with a "vector" sequencer - it can be both a chord sequencer and a melody sequencer, but not of the usual kind.

Quantermain is a quad pitch quantiser for external voltages, with editable scales; it can do clocked (trigger-driven) quantising, or continuous quantising, with a latency of under 100 microseconds; it also features quad Turing Machines, May-Verhulst logistic maps or byte beats as optional, semi-random, internally generated CV sources.

Meta-Q is a dual-channel quantiser, similar to Quantermain, but also offering scale and note mask sequencing.

Quadraturia is a wavetable quadrature LFO, based on the "Easter egg" in the Mutable Instruments Frames module.

Low-rents is a dual Lorenz and Rossler (strange attractor) modulation generator, partially based on the "Easter egg" in the Mutable Instruments Streams module.

Piqued is a quad voltage-controlled envelope generator, based on envelope generator code from the Mutable Instruments Peaks module, but extending it with voltage control, additional envelope types, including re-triggering (looping) envelopes, additional segment shapes, adjustable trigger delays, and a unique Euclidean "trigger filter" which turns the app into a Euclidean rhythm generator which can output envelopes, not just gate or trigger pulses.

Sequins is a dual-channel step sequencer offering 4 "tracks" of up to 16 steps each; tracks can themselves be sequenced.

Dialectic Ping Pong is a quad bouncing ball envelope generator, based on a hidden mode of the Mutable Instruments Peaks module.

Viznutcracker, sweet! is a quad "byte beat" equation generator, which can be used as an audio source to generate curious but often interesting 8-bit noises and tunes, or which can be clocked by an external source to produce "byte beat" control voltage sequences. "Byte beats" were first described in 2011 by viznut (aka Ville-Matias Heikkila).

Acid Curds is both a chord quantiser (sometimes called a "harmonic quantiser" for external pitch voltages), and a chord progression sequencer.

References is an utility app that outputs specific reference voltages on each channel to help tune or calibrate VCOs and other modules. It also includes a high-precision frequency meter and note tuner, a high-precision BPM (beats per minute) tempo meter, and a closed-loop calibration mode.

Notes: Two channel USB module.

Standard Mode - Send two channels into your USB device and receive two channels from USB.

Insert Mode - Send two channels to your USB device and get a copy of the sent signal in the outputs.

Toggle between the modes via a pair of jumpers on the back. The USB-B to USB-A cable is provided with the module. Why use the cutting edge USB-B? I felt the jacks were way more sturdy than mounting USB-C jacks vertically.

This 14HP wide module is a voltage controlled noise based oscillator, or noisillator for short. It generates 1/f noise and this is then sent through a feedback loop which allows the noise to be "tuned" to varying degrees depending on the settings of the frequency and resonance controls, or incoming frequency or resonance CV's. The tuned circuit can be FM modulated too, for some thunderous sweeping sounds. We have bright and dark outputs, which are pre and post filter respectively. The Bright output will always have a degree of noise present in the signal, whereas the Dark output can be tuned noise only when 4 pole resonance is selected. We also have an external Sync input, which will reset the resonant waveform, and we also have an Audio input, so that an external signal can be mixed into the resonant loop. Combinations of external waveforms to these two inputs can create some massive drone sounds, or sweeping sync sounds.

There is also an XOR ring modulator, which can be used as a module in its own right too. Lastly, we have an XOR amplifier, which is another independant circuit that can be used to add noise and distortion to any audio signal.

Notes: Perfect for adding that final touch to a modular patch, the AJHSynth Finaliser R-EQ module includes seven Mono / Stereo reverb types, along with a four band equaliser and a Sonic Maximiser / Enhancer.

The Reverb, EQ and Maximiser can be used in Mono IN, Mono OUT mode or Mono IN, Stereo OUT modes. The reverb alone can also be used in Stereo IN / Stereo OUT mode too.

The fully analogue four band Equaliser includes three parametric equalisers for Low, Low Mid and High Mid ranges, and the High EQ has switchable shelving of either 2kHz or 5kHz. The Low EQ also includes a shelving mode.

The Maximiser is a fully analogue circuit too, with low and high treatment bands which change the phase and amplitude relationships of the sound to add punch and harmonics and really bring the sound to life in the mix.

The Reverb engine is based on 20 year old DSP technology, harking back to the reverb units which were used extensively on many synth and EDM tracks a couple of decades ago. We have added full control of reverb wet / dry mix, either manually or under CV control.

Notes: This 30HP wide module features twelve fixed frequency, inductor based bandpass filters, set at half octave interval spacing and covering from 125 Hz through to 5.8kHz. It also features low pass and high pass shelf filters, again they are fixed frequency and both are active inductor based circuits. It has a vintage pedigree that harks back to the original and highly sought after 914 Fixed Filter bank from the 1960's Moog 900 series modular synthesiser system, however we have brought this design up to date and made it compact enough to fit into skiff friendly Eurorack cases by using gyrator based active inductors, and have added some other very useful features too - the bands are split alternatively to left and right channels, each having their own individual output, and there is also an inbuilt Voltage Controlled cross-fader that allows panning between the left and right banks, with a mix of all bands available in the central position.

In addition, we have a second cross fader that can mix between the dry incoming signal, or an external signal fed into input 2, and this is cross-faded against the wet MIX Output - this allows Voltage Controlled crossfading from wet to dry signals, or between wet and external signals - and the level of each can be adjusted using the Input 1 and Input 2 level controls.

A further addition is the feedback control, this is similar in design to the resonance control on a regular VCF, but because of the multiple fixed filters topology it is rather different in operation - it would normally be added in small amounts to thicken up the sound, however we have allowed the feedback to traverse to quite extreme settings for howling feedback and even soft clipped self-oscillation, especially for the noise merchants out there...

Using L/C inductor topology bandpass circuits rather than the usual Sallen Key R/C active bandpass filters does give a slightly different sound and this is part of the magic of the original 914 filterbank, as the LC based circuit exhibits less phase shift against frequency that the more common Sallen Key R/C based bandpass filters that are used in many Modular synths.

Many people often wrongly assume that a fixed filter bank is exactly the same as a graphic equaliser - however this is certainly not the case, if all of the controls of a graphic EQ are set to centre then a flat frequency response is expected and the output will sound very similar, or identical to the input - this does not happen with a fixed filter bank, the frequency response rises and falls as it passes between each stage (but to a lesser extent than if the filters are all set to maximum output), so it acts as a soft slope comb filter, and the resulting output sounds very different from the input signal. Also, with all of the individual filters turned to zero there will be no output at all.

Notes: The Low Fat is a new 2hp Eurorack module by AJH Synth, it's a High Pass filter, with frequency control by either manual pot, and/or external CV with attenuator. It's intended to compliment other filters, particularly low pass VCF modules, in practical tasks such as removing excessive low frequencies, for example when the bass is swamping a mix. It can be switched between 6dB (1 pole) response and 12dB (2 pole) response.

By patching a CV signal to the FCV input it can be voltage-controlled and used musically as with any other VCF. When used in conjunction with a LP filter it forms a fully customisable band pass filter, allowing the range of passbands to be cherry-picked. Feeding in a 1V/Oct pitch CV and setting the FCV pot to a suitable level allows it to track an incoming pitch CV, so the amount of High Pass filtering remains constant as the pitch of the incoming VCOs traverse up and down the frequency range. This can be particularly useful in creating percussive sounds, such as snares and hats, but also on sequenced bass lines. Since it is only 2HP it's a great way to occupy one of those frustrating gaps in your eurorack modular case with something that is deceptively useful, and adds another dimension to the classic bass monster that is the Transistor Ladder Filter.
